The Stables is an enormous nine bedroom converted barn in the Vale of York which sleeps 18. Set on 3,000 acres of private land, the grounds boast ample cycle and footpaths to help you explore and discover some of its highlights. Larger groups and family gatherings will likely find the Stables ideal if they are looking to have a peaceful, relaxing countryside getaway. Children and dogs are welcome on the property, though guests should be aware that certain rules do apply to parties travelling with dogs.
By retaining many of its original features, the Stables sustains an authentic, Northern countryside atmosphere. Contributing to this is the property's large walled garden, which provides guests with the opportunity for quiet contemplation during their stay. With plenty of windows throughout the property, ample natural light enters the building and affords delightful views of the grounds outside the Stables. The hot tub, included in the price, makes the perfect place to relax, as does the decadent double log burner in the living space; such features turn a winter stay at the Stables into something to remember.
With four ensuite twin rooms and five ensuite double rooms, the Stables is able to sleep up to 18 guests. And the Stables can be booked with the cottage next door which has an additional two double bedrooms, meaning the property can cater for groups of up to 22 guests.
Underfloor heating is present throughout the ground floor and bathrooms, so you won’t have to worry about feeling chilly if you visit during the colder months. The expansive fully equipped kitchen flows naturally into the open living space and opens out into the cobbled courtyard at the centre of the property, which is perfect for entertaining larger groups.
As far as entertainment options are concerned, the Stables’ Tack Room boasts a bar area and pool table, making it great fun for nights in. The property’s old Carriage Room also hosts luxurious sofas and a huge 60” Smart TV, ideal for movie marathons spent with your nearest and dearest.
If you want to bring an additional four guests with you, taking your total to 22, you can book Laundry Cottage, which sits next door. Simply enquire with Yorkshire Escapes when booking and they can arrange this for you. Laundry Cottage sleeps four guests in two comfy bedrooms which both have ensuite bathrooms.
The Stables are located just seven miles from the historic city of York, which is sure to please both culture buffs and nature lovers alike. Enjoy the iconic architecture of the city centre or venture further afield to the gorgeous expanses of National Parks like the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales. Or, if you're up for a bit of an adventure, the North East coast of the UK is just over an hour's drive away.
