For unforgettable group gatherings, this collection of four stunning barns in North Yorkshire can be booked together to create a luxurious and flexible retreat for up to 22 guests across 11 ensuite bedrooms. Whether it’s a special celebration, family reunion or friends’ getaway, this collection offers space, style and comfort in equal measure.
At the heart of it all is The Long Hall – a striking communal space designed for dining and socialising as one big group. Up to 22 guests can dine together around a single long table, with all crockery, glassware, cutlery and furnishings provided for a truly special experience. Fairy lights add a warm, celebratory glow and guests are welcome to personalise the décor to suit their event.
At the end of your long day socialising together, you can retire back to one of the four superb barns on offer.
Up first is Irishman’s Cottage, a beautifully converted barn for two. Brimming with character – from exposed oak beams to historic dove nesting holes – it’s a romantic retreat with rustic charm in abundance. Inside, the open-plan layout includes a handmade Neptune kitchen, underfloor heating and a leather sofa by the log-burning stove. Step outside to a private patio with a BBQ, which is perfect for sunset dinners and morning coffee with birdsong.
Fully wheelchair accessible and rated M3A by Visit England, the cottage is ideal for guests with mobility needs. The bedroom offers a super-king or twin setup with a luxurious wool mattress and an accessible ensuite wet room. Whether by the fire or under the stars, it’s a peaceful countryside escape.
Next, The Dovecote – a chic three-storey barn sleeping four across two ensuite bedrooms. With a blend of rustic charm and modern design, it’s ideal for families or friends. The open-plan living space includes tweed and leather sofas, a log burner and a stylish Neptune kitchen that opens to a private patio with BBQ.
Underfloor heating keeps the space cosy, while original features like the queen’s truss ceiling add timeless elegance. Both bedrooms feature luxury Yorkshire wool mattresses and private ensuites, with a downstairs WC for added convenience.
The Hay Barn offers three beautifully designed ensuite bedrooms in a stunning oak-framed barn, perfect for sociable stays. Located on the upper floor, the open-plan living area is filled with natural light and features comfy sofas, a log burner and Smart TV for relaxed evenings.
The sleek kitchen is fully equipped and paired with a large oak dining table seating up to 12. Bedrooms come with luxury wool mattresses, private ensuites and French doors leading to the garden. Outside, enjoy landscaped grounds, a BBQ and sunset views from the patio – a dreamy spot for alfresco dining or a lazy afternoon.
Finally, The Grand Barn, a bold and spacious retreat sleeping eight across four ensuite super-king bedrooms, with an optional annex (The Sack Store) for two more. The oak-framed main living space includes a cosy snug and mezzanine lounge – ideal for fireside chats or movie nights on the 55" Smart TV. The high-spec kitchen includes three ovens, two dishwashers, a wine fridge and chef’s knives – built for serious cooks or a private chef experience. Each bedroom is individually styled with plush bedding and sleek bathrooms. Outside, French doors lead to a private patio with BBQ and a grassy spot for soaking up the sun.
During your stay you also have access to a superb games room that features a pool table, darts board and board games to take away. There is also mini-bus hire available and sharing platters that can be delivered to your barn, including vegetarian and vegan platters. A partnership with a talented local private chef service means bespoke dining experiences can be arranged with ease. Each of the four barns includes its own exclusive welcome basket, filled with Yorkshire breakfast produce, homemade bread and a choice of Prosecco, wine, or juices.
If you decide to book, you’ll be staying on a working family-run arable farm, nestled in the charming and tranquil village of Kelfield - just 10 miles south of York. This peaceful rural setting offers the perfect blend of countryside calm and convenient access, placing you within easy reach of some of Yorkshire’s most celebrated historic estates, gardens and attractions. Whether you're looking to explore grand stately homes, meander through scenic walking trails or discover the rich heritage of nearby market towns, this location offers a wonderful base for experiencing the best of North Yorkshire.
