This grand, exquisite home sits in the heart of the Peak District National Park offering large groups a perfect place to relax and unwind together. With 11 beautifully appointed bedrooms, and an abundance of big social spaces, The Cattle Shed is ideal for your next break with family and friends.
When you arrive, drop your bags off in your room and gather together in the spacious open-plan lounge and dining room. Here, large windows frame panoramic views, with bifolding doors that open up onto the terrace. Get comfy on the large sofas and light the fire, as you stay toasty and warm catching up with loved ones, gazing at the amazing view or watching a movie together in peace.
Just off this seating space is the grand dining area that comfortably seats your entire group. Here, two large heavy dining tables set the scene for epic meals together that stretch long into the night. There’s also a fab bar area with a drinks fridge in this space, where you can enjoy an evening tipple after dinner. There’s also a lovely separate lounge room, where you’ll find a 55" smart TV and Bose bluetooth speaker system. This is a great spot to relax with a good book or enjoy a movie night in style.
When it comes to preparing meals for your group, there’s a spacious and stylish kitchen that is nicely equipped with everything you’ll need. There is one range oven, a single oven, a large American fridge-freezer, a second large fridge and two dishwashers so no-one gets lumbered with the washing up.
If you fancy some fun, then head to the games room. Here, you’ll find a table football table, a pool table and table tennis. There’s also a beer fridge and a bluetooth speaker in this space, so you can enjoy a drink and your favourite tunes as you play.
The Cattle Shed also has a lovely outdoor space that includes a big south-facing decked terrace and a separate area with a firepit and BBQ. The deck is ideal for alfresco lunches in summer, thanks to its giant dining table, and there are also some lovely sun loungers here where you can enjoy a peaceful snooze on warm days. Then, when the sun sets, light the firepit and toast marshmallows as the stars come out above. Guests are able to access the fields and river below the Cattle Shed, however, as it is a working farm, please could you let the owners know if you would like to do this.
When eyes grow weary, you have 11 beautifully styled ensuite bedrooms to choose from all of which have been designed for comfort and flexibility. 10 of the rooms feature luxurious super-king size zip-and-link beds, ideal for tailoring sleeping arrangements to suit your group, while one room offers a cosy king size bed paired with full-size adult bunk beds — perfect for families or groups of friends. Two of the ensuites come with a bath and shower overhead for long soaks or quick freshen-ups, while the remaining nine are fitted with sleek showers. One of the bedrooms is fully accessible, complete with a modern wet room, ensuring everyone can relax in style.
Nestled in the picturesque Hope Valley, The Cattle Shed is located in the heart of the Peak District. The location is a walker’s paradise; Padley Gorge and the National Trust Longshaw Estate are on the doorstep, while the famous climbing edges of Curbar, Froggatt and Stanage are just five minutes away. The fabulous Monsal Trail and the heated outdoor pool at Hathersage are close by, and for children, the nearby farmyard and adventure playground at Chatsworth offer endless fun. For dining, guests can explore the excellent pubs and restaurants nearby or opt for food delivered directly to the door.
