  The Detail...

Treat yourself to a touch of indulgence with a stay at this converted railway carriage in Norfolks charming Burnham Market. Part of The Hostes award-winning hotel collection, it offers a boutique experience with sumptuous hotel facilities. Relax in its soothing beauty spa or in the rejuvenating fitness centre, before a night at the atmospheric inn or in the lovely foodie restaurants. With its rural village location, just a few miles from the sea, you can while away your days amongst the country-coastal scenes.

The Railway Carriage at The Hoste is hidden at the back of The Railway House, one of The Hostes six bespoke hotels in tranquil Burnham Market. Set a 10-minute walk from the main hotel on disused railway tracks, the 19th century wagon is perfect for old-school romance. Picture a dreamy king-size bed for those long morning lie-ins, along with statement prints, lavish fabrics and plush, sink-in armchairs.

Step through The Railway House to find your beautifully painted carriage, complete with an open-plan living-sleeping area and a sophisticated en-suite bathroom. The antique brass bed takes centre stage and is topped with crisp linens and rich, velvet furnishings. Original artwork and period pieces join quirky railway finds, such as the vintage station lights and replica pull-down blinds. An opulent en-suite adds to its romantic glamour and boasts a feature copper sink and contemporary granite shower. Thoughtful little details make this your home away from home and include a modern TV, a designer kettle and thick, fluffy robes.

Breakfast is served in the main 17th century hotel, which offers discrete luxury with a relaxed, country air. Choose from the fresh, continental selection or the home-cooked dishes, waking up to freshly-brewed teas and artisan coffees. Stroll back to your carriage through the trendy, village streets, stopping in the artisan shops or on the quaint, little green. Spend lazy days with loved ones relaxing in the village, trying the hotels intimate cinema or outdoor hot tub.

For a more adventurous day, pack a picnic and head out on discovery, exploring Norfolks Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Uncover its flourishing woodland landscapes and pristine, sandy coastline, next to protected nature reserves with rare and beautiful wildlife. Visit the windswept Brancaster dunes or the magnificent bird observatory, before sailing out to Blakeney Point to see the resident seal colony.
