In the heart of rugged, beautiful Yorkshire, The Farmhouse at Long Marston is a grand brick home with space for up to eight guests, available to rent on a self-catered basis. Recently renovated to a high standard and brimming with twenty first century amenities, this is a comfortable and luxurious accommodation option for families and groups of friends, with the bustling metropolis of Leeds and the historic city of York both just seven miles away, and a range of activities and dining options in the surrounding vicinity.
With a typical farmhouse layout, the house has substantial dwelling spaces on the ground floor, with a stone floored kitchen-cum-dining-room providing everything you need to prepare fantastic meals for eight hungry holidaymakers. The aesthetic throughout is classy, rural and austere, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and authenticity. On the same level you’ll find the sitting room, with its wood-burning stove, sofas and Smart TV, and a utility room which is accessed via the kitchen.
The kitchen space overlooks the lengthy garden, with doors leading out to it. Outside, there is outdoor furniture on the patio and a charcoal grill, making this a perfect spot not just for cocktails, but to enjoy an al fresco dinner. Everything about this grand but cosy farmhouse conversion has been designed and decorated to create a comfortable space for friends, relatives and groups of couples to have a restorative and relaxing time away, whatever the weather.
Upstairs, you’ll find four spacious and comfortable bedrooms. Two are double bedrooms with their own private en-suite, while the remaining two are twin singles, which share a family style bathroom with a bath tub and shower.
The location is perfect for anybody who enjoys immersing themselves in the great outdoors. With both the Moors and the Dales easily accessible, hikers, cyclists, birdwatchers and first time ramblers will be delighted by their proximity to some of the most stunning topography in England. Even closer to home, the Farmhouse at Long Marston is set within 3,000 acres of farmland, offering miles of footpaths and cycle trails where you’re unlikely to bump into another soul.
Guests who fancy a walk to a country pub should make the two mile stroll to The Sun Inn, with its fantastic food, great local ales and wonderful atmosphere. Alternatively, make the two and a half mile journey to The Tickled Trout for excellent Yorkshire fare. Whatever the weather, Stockfield Adventure Park can be reached in twenty minutes, with its indoor climbing facilities, family-friendly eatery and indoor ski stimulator.
