Beautiful dog-friendly barn conversion in rural Yorkshire with a games room and a private hot tub for relaxed group stays.
Newly developed for 2026, Field Cottage is a warm and beautifully designed countryside escape where relaxed luxury meets easy-going group living. Sleeping up to eight guests and welcoming dogs, this contemporary barn conversion is all about bringing people together, whether that’s soaking in the private jacuzzi-style hot tub, challenging each other in the games room or gathering around the dining table after a day exploring Yorkshire.
Step inside and you’re welcomed by a light-filled open-plan living, kitchen and dining space designed for sociable stays. Expansive windows and a skylight flood the room with natural light by day, while evenings are spent curled up on deep sofas in front of the Smart TV or chatting long into the night. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need for unhurried group meals, including a large fridge freezer, separate drinks fridge, dishwasher and a generous breakfast bar, with patio doors opening straight out to the garden and hot tub area.
Tucked away from the main living space is a dedicated games room, complete with table football, a darts board, comfy seating and another Smart TV, making it a brilliant hideaway for kids and grown-ups alike. There’s also a handy utility room with washer, dryer and WC just off the entrance.
Field Cottage offers four generous bedrooms designed with comfort firmly in mind. Upstairs you’ll find three beautifully styled rooms with countryside views, two with super-king beds that can be arranged as twins, one of which has an ensuite shower room, plus a king size bedroom and a main family bathroom. On the ground floor, a spacious super-king bedroom with ensuite shower room provides easy access and is well suited to guests with reduced mobility.
Outside, a fully enclosed garden sits between the cottage and the driveway, offering far-reaching views over open fields. The private hot tub is tucked discreetly to the side of the house, creating a peaceful spot to unwind, while an alfresco dining table, chairs and charcoal BBQ set the scene for relaxed outdoor meals. New landscaping and outdoor seating will complete the space for the 2026 season.
Beyond the cottage, the surrounding area is perfect for easy days out. The historic city of Ripon is just six miles away, with its magnificent cathedral, markets and independent shops. Masham, home to the famous Black Sheep Brewery, is ideal for tastings and laid-back lunches, while Thirsk offers charming streets, cafés and rail links. For larger gatherings, Field Cottage can also be booked alongside its neighbour Wheatsheaf Barn, together forming The Big Green Barn and sleeping up to 16 guests.
