  The Detail...

Set in the grounds of the magnificent Boconnoc House and Estate, The Dairy House offers a boutique escape in the midst of some of Cornwalls most stunning countryside. Boconnoc itself is steeped in three centuries of fascinating history having been home to three Prime Ministers and with tales to tell of the Pitt Diamond, widely renowned as the most beautiful in the world. Away from the grandeur of the main house, with its sweeping staircases and 18th-century paintings, the Dairy House is luxurious in a more relaxed and even playful way. The interior, transformed from the old dairy, has been furnished by interior designer Sarah Fortescue. The eclectic style combines traditional and local features with pieces from all corners of the globe.

The Dairy House sleeps up to eight guests in four luxurious double bedrooms. Each of these has been individually furnished and has its own character but all have sumptuous bedding and are havens of relaxation. The dining room and the sitting room are wonderful social spaces with a cosy atmosphere. The dining table is made from oak sourced from the estate and provides a beautiful centrepiece for many delicious dinners. Afterwards, sink into one of the comfy sofas and challenge each other to a board game or two. The kitchen is fully-equipped and you can order fresh produce from the estates garden. Theres also the option of an in-house chef so you can relax completely.

Outside, theres a private courtyard with furniture for alfresco dining in the summer months with sweeping views across the grounds. Theres also a tennis court and a games room within the grounds and there are endless walks exploring the wider parkland. Wander down to the lake for a picnic or explore the ancient woodland. The gardens feature waterfalls and fountains and are bursting with many vibrant varieties of hydrangeas, rhododendrons and azaleas. If you want to venture further than the estate, Bconnoc is the perfect base to explore all of Cornwall. The Eden Project is close by and there are countless fishing villages to explore along the coast, not to mention some fantastic seafood to sample.
