The detail

A quaint fishing village, a safe sandy beach and a short walk from stunning coastal paths, pretty Mousehole is the quintessential Cornish holiday destination. The Clamshell, a 19th century stone cottage in the heart of the village, has been beautifully renovated to offer cosy and luxurious accommodation to visitors to this pretty spot. Located a few short steps from the beach and lovely independent shops, pubs and restaurants, guests can relax with everything they need a quick stroll away.

Guests will love returning from days on the beach to this characterful cottage. Step into the cosy living room, with stripped wooden floorboards and white walls maximising the light in this welcoming space. On evenings when the sea breeze blows in, light the wood burning fire and curl up on the comfy sofa, planning the next day's adventures. A small dining table is ideal for intimate suppers, but on warm evenings, make the most of the balmy summer air and sit out on the front terrace, enjoying dinner while watching the world wander by.

Cooks will love preparing meals in the well-equipped kitchen while gazing out over the roof tops and watching gulls nest on the chimney stacks and linen billowing in the sea breeze. Make the most of the wonderful local produce and put fresh fish and seafood on the holiday menu.

After days building sandcastles on the beach, dangling crab lines from the harbour wall and exploring the network of coastal paths, tired guests can enjoy a wonderful night's sleep in one of two peaceful bedrooms. Exposed beams and floorboards are complemented by the pastel-coloured soft furnishings, creating a relaxing and gentle environment to drift off to sleep in.
