You’ll find this cosy cottage tucked away in the winding streets of Mousehole, a charming fishing village on Cornwall’s coast. The recently refurbished, three bedroom Mill House is perfect for couples or families looking for a relaxing seaside break. Stroll down to the idyllic harbour and while away the morning with a coffee watching the boats come and go. Head out for a walk along the coast path to Lamorna Cove and soak up the scenery or explore the historic port of Penzance just a few miles up the road. In the evening retreat to your comfy bolthole and discuss the next day’s adventures in front of the wood burner.

Step inside the cottage and you’ll find yourself in the open plan living and dining space. A cosy atmosphere is created by the exposed beams, Cornish stone walls and the big comfy sofas gathered around the wood burner. This is the perfect spot to snuggle up after dinner and get stuck into a good film or a board game. The dining area has a large, rustic table and is set just off from the bespoke kitchen, kitted out with all the equipment you could need.

There are three bedrooms, all furnished in neutral colours and with sumptuous mattresses to create a relaxed feel. The main bedroom has a luxurious king size bed while the second bedroom has a double and overlooks the garden. There’s also a cosy single room and all the bedrooms have crisp white bed linen and heritage radiators. There's a shower room opposite the family bathroom which has a shower over a bath, a lovely spot to enjoy a soak after a long walk along the coast.

Outside, is a lovely courtyard garden with thoughtful planting that creates an extra bit of privacy. This part of Cornwall is protected by the surrounding hills, creating a real suntrap and you’ll find plenty of furniture in the garden to help you make the most of this. Enjoy your meals alfresco at the outdoor dining table and soak up the sunshine in the loungers on the garden’s upper level.

Mousehole has a rich history, dating back to the 12th century when it was Mounts Bay’s main fishing port. It still has much of its original charm in the winding streets and the harbour, just a stone’s throw from the cottage. You can explore the coast in either direction on foot, coming across coves and beaches along the way. The bustling town of Penzance is just a few miles up the coast and the picturesque St Michael’s Mount is less than 20 minutes away by car. This beautiful tidal island has a castle and gardens to explore and is only reachable between mid and low tide.
