Hidden within the peaceful, mature gardens of Grove Barn in Suffolk you'll find the Cart Lodge, once a barn and now a pristine apartment for four, renovated in superb style. Situated on the first floor of a Victorian cart lodge built from mellow red brick and contemporary wood cladding, Cart Lodge is a bright, open plan space, filled with light and air. With one king and one super-king sized bedroom, a generous living and dining space, kitchen and wet room, this beautiful apartment is perfect for a family, couple or friends' holiday.
The Cart Lodge is part of the Grove Barn property, located opposite lush water meadows, not far from the market town of Eye in the north of Suffolk. Recently renovated, this apartment has been simply and stylish restored to a high specification, with wooden flooring, oak beams, arching ceilings and underfloor heating.
The property is reached by a set of outside steps which takes you up to the first floor of the building. The main living space is spacious and open, featuring a seating area with two sofas and a TV, and a dining area and kitchen, fully equipped for everything from brewing a morning coffee to rustling up an evening meal. There are two bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and the other a super-king, plus a smartly tiled shower / wet room. From every window, views over the mature trees and lawns of the country gardens give the apartment a feeling of tranquillity and calm.
Outside you have your own garden area, with seating and a BBQ. Wildlife such as deer, ducks and rabbits are daily visitors. On all sides stretches the glorious Suffolk countryside, with woodlands, parkland and wild water meadows across the lane. The nearest town is Eye, a pretty market town with independent shops, restaurants and a castle, and the little village of Thornham Magna with its impossibly picturesque pink painted, thatch-roofed pub is only a short stroll away. An hour or so's drive will take you to the beaches and seaside towns of the Suffolk coast.

Minimum 3 night stays available
The nightly rates for the remainder of 2024 are:
12th July to 5th September: £120.00
6th September to 24th October: £85.00
14th October to 27th October: £95.00
25th October to 2nd November: £105.00
3rd November to 19th December: £85.00
20th December to 5th January '25: £125.00
Stays of 7 nights or more receive a 5% discount
A 50% deposit is payable at the time of booking. The balance plus laundry and cleaning fees is due a minimum 7 days before arrival.
A £70 service fee is added to the total rental cost for cleaning/laundry, etc. of the Cart Lodge after your stay.
If your stay is for longer than 1 week the cost for additional laundering of bed linens, if required, is an extra £15/week for one bedroom or £30/week for two bedrooms.
The weekly fee for one dog is £20.00. We prefer that puppies are kept in a dog crate to minimise risks of damage to furniture. We have a crate available for a medium sized dog but please provide your own bedding.
