Sloop is a wonderful, quaint holiday home that offers guests unrivalled access to the spectacular, rugged coastlines of County Down. Situated on the St John’s Point Lighthouse station in the South East of Northern Ireland, Sloop allows you to live the life of a light keeper in this remote, yet beautiful spot.
With the giant St John’s Point Lighthouse towering above in its dramatic shades of yellow and black, and the wonderful coastal location, Sloop offers guests a quick place to stop or a lovely location for a long relaxing holiday by the sea.
Once you step inside, you’re presented with a charming, rustic interior filled with comfy furnishings, pastel shades, and little nautical flourishes that give the place real character. Sit by the window in the pretty lounge with a book, enjoy your breakfast together in the quaint dining space, or head up stairs and enjoy a log relaxing bath.
Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms (one double and one twin), both of which are situated up in the roof, means that this home is perfect for small families, or little groups of friends. On top of all of this the kitchen has everything you need to cook up some wonderful locally sourced treats.
Whether you’re enjoying the summer sun and exploring what the area has to offer, or you’re hunkering down in the colder months with a warm mug of tea as the wild winds blow outside, Sloop is the prefect getaway for you.
St John’s Point offers guests plenty of walking opportunities, including the gorgeous Strangford Lough, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that you simply must visit! You can also explore the Titanic Museum in Belfast, which is just a short drive away, or the early Christian church un the nearby village of Killough.
