This beautiful, historic holiday home is situated in the seaside town of Ballycastle on the north coast of Northern Ireland. Magherintemple Lodge is just a little hop from the beach and is also just a short drive from the iconic tourist attraction of Giant’s Causeway. Built in 1874 in a Scottish Baronial style, Magherintemple Lodge is a gorgeous getaway for the whole family with a rustic, charming interior and all the comfort you need for an enjoyable stay.
From the outside this pretty stone building has plenty of rural, old-world charm, thanks to its stepped gables, finials and chimney stacks. And once you step inside you’re presented with a wholesome interior with pretty ornaments, artwork, and rugs that nicely compliment the tiled and wooden floors running throughout the property.
Perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway, or small families with one or two children, Magherintemple Lodge has one quaint master bedroom and a cosy kids room complete with a bunk bed. The family bathroom also comes with a bath tub for a relaxing soak and a shower for a quick wash. Guests can cook up some delights in the picture-perfect, countryside kitchen, or relax by the fire with a book and a nice glass of wine.
The spacious kitchen and dining area is filled with natural light and offers a social place for families to share each other’s company. However, those of you wishing to get away for some precious peace and quiet will be pleased to know there’s a nice cubby-hole at the top of the house where you can hide away with a book. In the summer time be sure to enjoy your morning coffee outside in the pretty garden, soaking in the serenity that surrounds you.
This holiday home is perfectly located for guests who want to explore everything Northern Ireland’s north coast has to offer. Giant’s Causeway a short drive away, and the wonderful Bushmills Distillery - Ireland’s oldest - is also nearby and is a must for fans of whiskey. Be sure to make the most of the Distillery Tours, and learn about how they’ve been making whiskey at that location for over 400 years.
With other areas of wonderful natural beauty around you, you have plenty of walking, cycling and hiking opportunities to explore. You could also visit Raithlin Island via boat, or visit one of a number of filming locations from the famous HBO TV series Game of Thrones, a number of which are very close to Magherintemple Lodge.
