The Details...

The southern stretch of the Peak District National Park is a fine part of the English countryside, and the Lowes Farm Shepherds Huts are as cosy as they come. Together they make a great combo, whatever time of year you choose to visit.

Theres something special about staying in a shepherds hut you will be impressed by the clever use of space as well as the style. Each hut at Lowes Farm features a warming log-burning stove with a built-in oven, as well as a gas hob and grill, and a dining table. Youll also have a cool box on hand, and all your kitchen essentials including crockery, cutlery and pots and pans are there too.

Solar-powered, the huts feature oak flooring and double-glazed windows. There are even hot water bottles provided. As well as a double bed, one hut (known as Doris) packs in an additional single bunk bed.

An en suite eco toilet is another handy addition. For a shower, wash basin and utility area (with secure storage, freezer, hairdryer and phone charging), just visit the barn where extra facilities have been created just for the occupants of the shepherds huts. Youll find secure off-road parking on site as well.

With plenty of animal occupants to meet, Lowes Farm looks out across the Manifold Valley, and can be found around 10 miles from the pretty market town of Leek. You may catch the regular Fine Food Market in the main square which showcases local delicacies from cheese to chutney to Staffordshire oatcakes.

The surrounding Peak District countryside provides the terrain for all sorts of active pursuits. Climb the rocky ridges of The Roaches or hire a canoe or rowing boat and get on the water. Cycling and walking routes, from gentle to challenging, are all around the beautiful Dovedale Nature Reserve, east of Lowes Farm is a great place for a wander. With the Peak Districts best-known towns like Bakewell and Buxton a little over 30 minutes drive away, theres no shortage of picturesque places to see, whichever direction you head in.

These sweet shepherds huts are just perfect for two, so get back in touch with the great outdoors, and each other, at Lowes Farm.
