Tucked away in a 17 acre valley on the border of Exmoor National Park, Longlands Glamping offers a fabulous retreat for large groups within the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This multi award winning retreat can be hired exclusively for up to 34 people and there really are few sites that can rival the stunning location and incredible views.
Longlands Glamping might just be your perfect rural retreat, which is why it has been awarded the prestigious title of Glamping Business of the Year 5 times in the Tourism Excellence Awards, as well achieving the quality grading 5* by Visit England.
Longlands Glamping is set near the North Devonshire coast and is made up of five safari lodges and one barn. Hidden away from the bright lights and hustle of the city, it is an enchanting place for all of the family. In the day, you can explore the rugged, rural scenes discovering ancient woodlands, babbling brooks and lush, valley greens. In the night, you can look up and wish upon a star as you’re treated to the twinkling vistas looking down on Exmoor.
The five luxurious safari lodges are set within this stunning, country setting and have been lovingly handcrafted to provide you with the ultimate glamping comforts. Their canvas structures are set on their own sturdy wooden platforms and are built into the grassy hillsides looking out towards the coastline. Their open-air decks are perfect for soaking up the views and even lead up to a BBQ platform. Toast marshmallows on the fire and reconnect with loved ones, playing fun, family board games long into the evening.
Inside, the lodges have each been stylishly furnished with an eclectic mix of country furnishings. Sink into the vintage, leather sofas beside the crackling wood burners or dine at the charming tables with their pastel colours. Quaint, wooden kitchens provide the convenience of home and are equipped with cooking utensils and running mains water. A private, ensuite bathroom can also be found in each lodge, complete with flushing toilet and hot water shower. When night falls and it’s time to curl up, each safari lodge has three comfy beds. There’s a master double and a cosy twin, along with a snug, little cabin with a sumptuous double bed.
Long Barn, which sleeps four, completes the site. Located within the original Longlands Farm courtyard, this 5-star, two-bedroom holiday barn is all on one level. The stunning views of ancient woodlands, pastures with grazing sheep and Devon Red cattle are immediately noticeable when you enter the barn.
Guests can enjoy the beautiful decked balcony with views of wildflower meadows, Exmoor, and glimpses of the sea at sunset. The open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room features a vaulted ceiling, underfloor heating and a log burner. The kitchen includes granite worktops, an induction hob, oven, butler sink, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, TV and WiFi.
When night falls, the master bedroom has a king size bed, spectacular views and an ensuite shower bathroom. The bright twin bedroom also offers remarkable views. The family bathroom includes a bath, handheld shower, basin, and heated towel rail.
During your stay your group will have access to the fantastic Party Barn. This is a great place to bring the whole group together and socialise in style. The charming, fully equipped space features huge oak tables that can easily seat 34 guests making it ideal for enjoying large meals together.
When it comes to socialising, you will also have access to a hot tub, positioned on its very own deck above the lake. Here you can immerse yourself in the warm waters and enjoy the spectacular views over the water, through the valley and down to the sea
If you fancy being at one with nature you can try your hand at wild swimming on-site or embark on stream walks and nature trails in the nearby woods.
When you’re feeling refreshed and ready to explore, there are magnificent adventures at your front door. Enjoy long, country hikes or relaxing, coastal walks before resting your weary legs on the private, lakeside shores. Set on the border of Exmoor, and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the captivating landscapes are a joy to discover. Pretty seaside and market towns can also be found just a few miles away, including Combe Martin, Woolacombe and the historic streets of Lynton.
