The Highlights...
- The views from the property truly have to be seen to be appreciated; whether you’re in the hot tub with a glass of wine, the decking with a cup of coffee, or striding up the hill to catch the sunset from your favourite perch, you’re in for a real treat every time you gaze down the valley.
- Guests can expect a welcoming hamper waiting for them, packed with local produce and even a bottle of Prosecco. Extra indulgent luxury baskets can also be purchased.
- The surrounding area plays host to all manner of festivals throughout the year, so be sure to look into what’s happening during your stay. Guests are also welcome to come and learn about lambing during the lambing season.
You should know...
- Up to two well behaved pets are welcome, but they’ll incur a surcharge of £10 each. They also must be kept off the furniture, and ought to be kept on leads on their way to the property, as Two Valleys Retreat is on a working farm.
- The tent itself is accessed up a steep track; if you have reservations about driving up there your hosts will be happy to drive you and your luggage up.
- Generally changeover days are rigid, and these change throughout the year, so its best to make contact to check your ideal dates, or if you require a shorter stay.
The Detail...
A stone’s throw from Offa’s Dyke, Two Valleys Retreat is a spacious canvas structure overlooking a patchwork of fields in the valleys below. Nestled on the hillside, far from the noise, light, and stresses of urban life, Two Valleys Retreat is the perfect getaway, offering up to seven guests total tranquillity and immersion in the natural world.
Two Valleys Retreat is a unique accommodation option, comprising a green canvas tent with timber frame and a wooden deck. There's also a walkway leading to your own private hot tub. There is a main central living space, open to the valley on one side using a closable canvas flap, and bedrooms arranged as three doubles and one single, meaning multiple configurations of guests can be comfortably accommodated. All bedlinen and towels are provided, and a full shower room with hot water and plumbed in lavatory mean that just because you’re getting back to nature, you don’t have to go without the basics. The kitchen also features everything you’d expect to find in a self-catering property, as well as an ice box. Alternatively, fire up the barbecue outside and cook up an al fresco feast.
By night, the stars are bright in the unpolluted sky, and by day the only sounds which waft up the valley are the calls and rustles of the birds and woodland creatures below. Two Valleys Retreat offers this level of back-to-nature delight while maintaining a high level of luxury. Both 4G internet and mobile phone signal are found throughout the property, which also features a wood-burning stove.
The surrounding area is a dream playground for youngsters and older guests alike, with acres and acres of meadows, farmland and forests. What better way to leave behind the routine of life in the city than by scrambling up a wooded hillside, taking a long ramble with staggering views, and rounding it off with a quick pint in a brilliant local pub?
This area of the country is celebrated for its stunning topography, rustic lifestyle and rural beauty. Guests at Two Valleys Retreat are drawn to the majesty and calmness of the valley, but there is also a more active side to life in the valleys, with rambling, canoeing, and cycling options nearby. For local pubs, the Harp Inn is just three and a half miles away down pretty country lanes, and serves excellent food. If possible, make the nine mile journey to Forest Inn, and experience one of the oldest pubs in all of Wales, still in its original glory. The literary town of Hay and Wye is a wonderful place to visit all year round, with its cobbled streets, bookshops and truly magical atmosphere- well worth a day trip.
