Boutique hotel in the Scottish Highlands with a delightful coastal location, beautiful views, and a fabulous restaurant.
Natural beauty is on the menu at Kylesku Hotel - a boutique getaway and restaurant right on the coast in the northwest Scottish Highlands. The building itself is from the 19th Century, but has been recently modernised to give a mixture of quirky rooms; many of which are overlooking Loch Glendhu.
There are 11 super-comfy en-suite rooms to choose from of varying size. There are three super king rooms (one of which can also be set up as a twin), two king size rooms, four double rooms, and two family rooms. Some of these rooms are situated at the back of the hotel, with those at the front offering lovely views of the loch. Some rooms also have balconies, meaning you can breathe in fresh air whilst enjoying the view.
The family rooms, which can sleep up to four people consist of a super king or twin beds, along with a separate single bed and Z bed. Every room has either an en-suite bathroom or shower room for added privacy.
There is a private lounge at the hotel for guests to use, complete with a library of books, fantastic views, and a telescope for wildlife watching. This is an ideal spot to relax after a day out exploring the wonderful natural surroundings.
On-site there is also the award-winning restaurant, which is famous for its fresh seafood. With the loch right on the doorstep, much of the produce is sourced straight from it, with shellfish coming right off the fishermen’s boats. The rest of the ingredients are also locally sourced where possible, before being prepared by the excellent chefs. Elsewhere is a welcoming bar with an array of beers, wines, and spirits, which also has an accompanying outdoor deck overlooking the loch.
Kylesku Hotel is located in Assynt, which is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland. Part of the Northwest Scotland UNESCO Geopark there is plenty to do within a stone’s throw of the hotel, including walks along the beach, over the hills, and over mountains. There are also plenty of outdoor activities, such as fishing, kayaking, cycling, and horse riding. The area is part of the North Coast 500 - a 500-mile route of iconic coastal landscape that includes white beaches, stunning lochs, ancient castles, and much more.
