This large country house in the heart of South Devon sleeps up to ten guests, ideal for large family and group getaways. With its own private outdoor swimming pool, as well as access to the farm's very own spa, tennis court and 27-acre grounds, this is a cottage holiday like few others. Located near the coast and the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the farmhouse provides guests with a wonderful base to make the most that this beautiful county has to offer.
Flear House is a stunning Georgian farmhouse, set among lawned gardens and overlooking a lush green valley. The house itself has been tastefully decorated in keeping with its heritage, making the most of its original features and is proudly furnished with quintessentially English country style. The pillared entrance leads to a grand dining hall complete with an inglenook fireplace, while the drawing room is home to a marble fireplace - the perfect spot to snuggle up in the evenings.
The fully-equipped kitchen is extensive enough to cook up large feasts, boasting an Aga. Of course, during the summer months, al fresco dining might be the preferred option, and thanks to the three-burner gas barbecue and patio with outdoor furniture, there's no reason not to sit out in the fresh air. A grand oak stair case leads guests up to the four bedrooms - one super king with en-suite spa bath, two ensuite king rooms, and two twins. A large family shower room and WC can also be found upstairs. The outdoor heated pool is open for all guests to use.
South Devon offers some of England's most beautiful landscapes, coastline, and villages. Guests have an abundance of choice for beaches, just a short drive away - some sandy and some shingled, with surfing and other watersports a must in this part of the world. Local towns to explore include Dartmouth and Totnes, and there is plenty on offer for the culture and history lovers, including Berry Pomeroy Castle and a number of National Trust properties.
