The Details...

Just 150 yards from a quiet and peaceful cove stands Felin Hescwm, a former Stables, Cart Shed, and Granary for the Mill lovingly renovated using the traditional local materials of Stone lime and slate to create a beautiful self-catering cottage set in lovely water gardens.

Accessed via a narrow country lane, the cottage is close to the owners house, but benefits from the privacy of extensive planting. It overlooks a placid and glassy millpond, along with the historic Grade II* listed watermill and is set in extensive gardens and small woodlands which slope down into the cove.

Arranged over two floors, Felin Hescwm sleeps up to four people in two double bedrooms, each with a bespoke bedstead crafted by the local blacksmith, and each having its own en suite wet room.

The entire downstairs area has underfloor heating, while the gallery-style upstairs space, with its high vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, is heated by skirting heating and a woodburning stove, with the first basket of logs provided for free.

The renovation has been undertaken with judicious respect to local customs and materials, resulting in a cottage which tastefully blends West Wales architecture with contemporary luxury. Guests are encouraged to make use of the firepit, barbecue, and picnic area overlooking the sea, or cook inside using the high-spec kitchen. The interior of the cottage is cosy but spacious, bathed in the light which pours in through the traditional, listed windows. Whatever the season, guests staying at Felin Hescwm are guaranteed a magical escape.

Set among wildflowers and rugged outdoor scenery, the grounds of the house are a magical place to explore, as you take in the roar of the nearby waterfall or gaze up at the dazzling stars. With WiFi, a BluRay enabled Apple TV and a honour based swap library, guests will rarely have cause to leave the house and garden, apart from pottering down to the picturesque beach, which you will often have all to yourself. Should you venture further afield, youll find three charming pubs just a mile away, as well as a fish and chip shop, two small supermarkets, and a caf.
