Fair Oak Farm is a gorgeous estate in a rural setting in East Sussex. There are ten separate, unique and stylish properties on the estate, from spacious and quirky eco-lodge tree houses to an historic farmhouse with ancillary Oast House, plus a range of facilities in other outbuildings. Fair Oak Farm is available for exclusive hire and can be all yours for a special event or luxurious group getaway. Together Fair Oak sleeps up to 32 friends and family, whilst business groups can sleep 17 (or more if sharing rooms) for a corporate team event.
The exquisitely furnished farmhouse sleeps 10 guests. The ground floor has a living room with large log burner, separate reception room with sofas, fully equipped kitchen with Aga and separate oven leading on to an open plan dining room which opens on to the rear courtyard and large gardens. Upstairs, the first floor has four main bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms and the master bedroom also boasts a walk-in dressing room. The second floor has two sleeping areas.
You will also have access to the Oast House, complete with cowl on the roundel and with private entrance, parking and courtyard garden, provides separate, two-bedroom ancillary accommodation with its own kitchen and attached barn with open plan living/dining room. The converted barns surround a private courtyard with seating, fire pit and blossom trees. The central barn has a large kitchen/bar and large open-plan lounge dining space providing a social hub for groups and including large screen projector for workshops and meetings. The attached Cow Shed contains two double/twin bedroom suites, whilst Stable Cottage and the detached Grain Store each have their own double bedroom, en-suite, living room and kitchen.
Two original Eco-Lodge Tree Houses, a newer two-bedroom tree house and converted Hay Barn sit in an ancient tree line and have stunning, uninterrupted valley views. Two luxe Shepherd Huts also sit in the orchard. Together, the lodges and huts make for a truly unique experience, each with their own kitchen, living, shower and private outdoor space. In addition to communal spaces in the central barn and farmhouse, a range of outbuildings provide on-site facilities, such as a sauna, games barn, cinema barn, guest laundry and boot room, studio spaces for classes and workshops and treatment studio for on-site massage, facial or nail spa services.
The surrounding countryside and rolling meadows are great for leisurely walks and cycling. Golf courses and fishing locations can also be found nearby, along with a host of castles, beautiful gardens, National Trust properties, family attractions and the famous Ashdown Forest. A range of activities, such as laser clay shooting and quad biking, paint balling and lots more are available on site or close by.
The medieval village of Mayfield is just two miles away and has a small supermarket plus a butchers, wine shop and deli selling award winning local produce. The villages of Heathfield, Stonegate and Wadhurst are 10-15 minutes away, while the spa town of Tunbridge Wells is 25-30 minutes away in one direction and the southern coast is 25-30 minutes away in the other direction. Brighton is 45 mins by car. Central London is only an hour by train.
Fair Oak Farm encourages sustainable tourism practices, working closely with the local community to promote award winning local produce and has itself won several awards including the ‘Best Boutique Stay’ in the Sussex Muddy Stilettoes awards and a National Geographic nomination for a unique lodge of the world, of which there are only four in Europe. More recently, the farm won ‘Best Private Country Retreat’ in the global Travel & Tourism Awards in three consecutive years.
