Merrieweathers is a countryside retreat within easy reach of London situated on the border of Sussex and Kent in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Accommodation is spread across adjacent properties- The Stables and The Hayloft. The Stables features a Great Hall -an impressive 50-foot room which has dining table with seating for up to 18. This grand room has beautiful oak beams, chestnut floors, chandeliers and French doors opening out onto the courtyards. A separate sitting room with comfy sofas is perfect for a quiet time with a book. You will find a fully equipped kitchen with everything you might need for large-scale catering.
There are four bedrooms in The Stables - all ensuite. Two are on the ground floor giving this option for those with limited mobility. Each bedroom is individually styled from a Japanese style bedroom with a jacuzzi in the ensuite, to a luxurious French Rose Suite with elegant details such as chandeliers, an antique French washstand and a ball and claw standing bath in the marbled ensuite.

The Hayloft is located directly opposite The Stables and is bright and spacious with a large, open-plan living and dining room and two ensuite bedrooms. Two further ‘open plan’ bedrooms on the mezzanine floor share their own shower room.

Less than 100 yards from the accommodation, you will find your own private pub. This is a replica of a traditional English pub where you can pull yourself a pint from the pumps behind the bar – a keg of local beer or lager can be arranged -or prepare a gin and tonic using the in-house optics. There are also plenty of games, such as pool, football table and even a cinema screen and poker table. On sunny days, head outside to the outdoor kitchen, complete with sink, granite work surfaces and a charcoal barbecue. If you’re visiting in the summer months of July and August, the use of the estates heated outdoor swimming pool can be arranged.

Set in 50 acres of beautiful gardens and fields and surrounded by lakes and woodland, there’s plenty to do without leaving the estate. Explore the kitchen garden and collect some eggs from the chicken coop for breakfast. Or wander down to the lake for a picnic and have a go at fishing. A tennis court and table tennis will keep guests entertained and there are also miles of public footpaths that can be accessed directly from The Stables and The Hayloft. A local vineyard is a 45-minute walk- why not arrange for a spot of wine tasting and vineyard tour? If you want to explore a little further, the ancient village of Mayfield or the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells are both within easy reach.
