For couples looking to retreat to a peaceful part of the country, but still enjoy lavish accommodation, this is the ideal place to stay. And thanks to its proximity to the vibrant city of Edinburgh, guests can have the best of both worlds. Surrounded by gorgeous heather clad hills, and out in the open on an 18th century farm yard, this modern barn conversion is the perfect base for rural exploring as well as the culture and history that Edinburgh has to offer.
From the outside, this cottage retains its original charm. Its sandstone exterior has been kept in tact, ensuring its character has not been sacrificed. While inside, guests will enter a sophisticated, luxurious property boasting high-end decor, furnishings and design. With a Scandinavian feel, visitors can marvel at the stunning interiors while feeling cosy and warm thanks to the wood-burning stove and underfloor heating.
Large windows throughout the property allow plenty of natural light to flood the rooms, while ensuring the lush greenery outside can be viewed and admired from within. The blissful shower room is just what is needed after a day of walking in the wilderness, or indeed before a day out discovering the rich heritage and culture of Edinburgh, while the open plan kitchen and living area allow for practical and comfortable living.
Located off the beaten track, Eastside Wash House is nicely tucked away in a peaceful, rural setting within the lovely Pentland Hills Regional Park. Just up a tranquil glen, the surrounding area is remote, with epic landscapes and wonderful walking trails all around. All this while knowing that Edinburgh is just a 10-mile drive away. Culture fans will be delighted with the array of history, the thriving art scene and the astounding food and drink available throughout the city.

Leave a reviewLoved my stay at the Wash House. In late spring the lambs are jumping around the fields, the birds are super busy and the hills display amazing light shows through the rain and snow showers. The cottage is cosy and modern with the bed feeling like a cloud, fitting effortlessly into with the hill farm context with wonderful views out into a woodland garden and glimpses of the Pentland peaks beyond through the branches. Looking forward to my next visit!
