Situated at the foot of the Gargunnock Hills in Stirlingshire, Leckie Estate is one of the few spots in Scotland from which you can see Loch Lomond, Edinburgh and Stirling. Made largely from timber grown on the estate and meticulously designed to be of minimum impact on the environment, each of the treehouses has a unique design and concept to offer four individual hideaways with something to suit everyone. Each is unique in their location, outlook, style and elevation but all are equally special.
The Treehouses are self-catered and are stocked with all the amenities in the fully equipped kitchens required for a banquet in the trees, not to mention luxurious outdoor copper tubs and super sumptuous bedding. Air-source heating and wood-burning stoves create a cosy environment, making the treehouses a year-round destination. Chiffchaff and Goldfinch offer king size bedrooms while Wren and Siskin also have child-friendly bunk rooms.
Chiffchaff, which has step-free access, is reminiscent of a cosy woodland barn and has wonderful rustic interiors. It has a great view of the surrounding parkland and hills beyond and is situated between an impressive sycamore and a gnarly grove of yew trees.
Goldfinch is situated high up in the canopy of a large sycamore tree right in the middle of the wood and in the heart of The Treehouses. Its generous deck in the branches makes you feel like you are in a nest, living amongst the trees. It has a stylish and contemporary interior scheme which is incredibly peaceful and mirrors the colours of the woodland floor. With the peace of the woodland, it’s the perfect lover’s nest and a great place to escape the outside world.
Wren has an incredible bridge over a burn which leads to decking in the branches of an old oak tree overlooking the parkland pond with the hills beyond. The vibe is Scandinavian with very natural colour pallets and clean interiors.
Siskin is Situated around a 300-year-old oak tree and directly overlooks the parkland pond and Gargunnock Hills behind ensuring the view is just breathtaking. Situated high in the branches with a stunning BBQ terrace in front, it’s an incredible place to have a drink of an evening whilst cooking your dinner. Inside the feel is wooden luxury; cedar wall cladding gives the most wonderful woodland smell and the spacious kitchen and sitting room mean that the whole family can chill out inside if it's chilly or sit out on the deck in the evening sunshine.
It would be hard to find somewhere more relaxing; kick back on your deck amongst the trees with just the birds for company, enjoy a massage under the branches and soak your limbs in the beautiful copper bath. For those looking to be a bit busier, there is plenty to keep you occupied on-site and nearby. The Trossachs National Park is a 20-minute drive away and is famous for its Highland scenery of mountains, lochs and beautiful woodland. This is the perfect spot for adventure seekers with great scope for activities.
