The Peaceful Cabin is set on a quiet lane, with no through traffic, in its own small gardens. You’re right by the river, and close to the popular Robert Louis Stephenson trail, making this an ideal spot for cyclists, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Wildlife ranging from deer, otters and herons to kingfishers and a wonderful variety of birds roam nearby, while the abundance of mature trees makes this a wonderful place to enjoy the calming benefits of forest bathing.

The house itself is timber framed and clad, built to a pleasing Scandinavian style, and offering all the amenities you’d expect from a self-catering cottage. The cabin is arranged on one level, with a ladder-accessed sleeping mezzanine overhead. As well as the wood-burning stove, there is full heating, a well-equipped kitchen, and a plumbed-in shower room and lavatory. You’ll largely have the outdoor space to yourself, so feel free to roam around, or relax close to home base on the timber decking. Guests looking to unplug from the perpetual bombardment of modern life will be pleased to find that there is no television, although the cabin does have WiFi.

Although The Peaceful Cabin is characterised by quiet, you’re just fifteen minutes from Edinburgh Airport, and can reach the city’s attractions easily.
