When the day-to-day becomes that bit too overwhelming and you need to recuperate take deep gulps of the fresh Scottish air, walk stunning landscapes and enjoy the modern luxury of awe-inspiring Rink Hill. This modern home for two is quite literally off-the-beaten track, it is situated on a hillside on a hill track, and is tucked away from the busy chaos of 21st Century life.
Stunning doesn't quite cover this exceptional property set in the lovely Scottish borders. This flat-roofed, circular-fronted timber lodge blends beautifully with its natural setting, surrounded by native grasses, meadow and wild flowers and overlooking the breath-taking Tweed Valley. Floor to ceiling windows complete the front exterior of the property, offering captivating vistas whatever the time of day or night and whatever the unpredictable weather might bring. You can also relax and unwind in your own private hot tub looking at the stunning view and enjoying a little bit of luxury!
Step indoors and enjoy the dramatic landscape from the comfort of the spacious, open plan living and dining area. Light the woodburner and take your seat on the stylish mid-century inspired furniture, including a deep corner sofa, put your feet up and relax. Your every move will be warm and cosy thanks to the underfloor heated wooden floor boards and natural light pours through the windows to illuminate your days while moonlight creates the most romantic evening atmosphere.
The kitchen area is well-equipped with pretty duck-egg blue cupboards and lots of space to make use of the local culinary specialities and create romantic suppers for two. Breakfast can be enjoyed on stools at the kitchen bar and there is a lovely dining area which overlooks the valley and is perfect for formal meals.
The mud and sweat of vigorous hikes can be washed off in the stunning, large bathroom, which has a double sized shower and freestanding sink unit. Or soak away the day in the free-standing bath where you can relax and marvel at the spectacular views.
At bedtime, head to the king-sized bed and slip between the crisp, white linens. Drift off under the stars or pull down the blinds to create a cosy cocoon. Should you be able to drag yourself away from Rink Hill, the local area offers a plethora of activities for those wanting to explore. There are wonderful walks and mountain bikes trails in the area which is also home to plenty of lovely villages and market towns. Surf at Coldingham Bay, fish the River Tweed or Go Ape at Glentress. For great eats try The Fleece Bar at Selkirk, The Salmon Inn at Galashiels or the award-winning Firebrick at Lauder. Favoured coffee spots include Three Hills Coffee, Selkirk and Cocoa Black, Peebles.
