The detail

Crestow House is a Victorian manor, beautifully restored to do away with uptight tradition and instead embraces a luxurious, laid-back style. Inside this grand building, you’ll find a home away from home in the heart of the Cotswolds. Set in the beautiful market town of Stow on the Wold, a stay at Crestow House will transport you from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Rooms are available for quiet, romantic escapes or the whole house and grounds can be booked for exclusive use, suiting large family gatherings or special occasions with friends.

The hotel boasts seven unique and luxurious bedrooms and suites. Everything from the décor to the bespoke beds has been chosen to emphasise the unique character of each room. The furnishings, which are simple and elegant in style, have been created by local craftsmen. Tasteful accessories and lighting, chosen to produce a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, have been sourced from the finest designers.

Retaining some of the history and quirks of the house, each room shows off original Victorian features designed by the renowned 19th-century architect, Sir Edward Lutyens. Combining the old with the new, the rooms are also equipped with luxurious amenities, such as Ultra HD smart TVs and Egyptian bedding to compliment the Vispring bespoke beds. In the bathrooms, you’ll find soft and fluffy bathrobes and products from Miller Harris.

After a delightful night’s sleep, head down to the Victorian-style conservatory and enjoy breakfast while overlooking the stunning grounds. The ingredients for your meal will be sourced from local suppliers, including Cotteswold Dairy and Lamournes Butchers of Stow. Take a wander around the peaceful private grounds that surround the house with manicured lawns and beautiful gardens. There is also a 36-foot heated pool available to guests during the summer months. Lie back on one of the loungers by the pool, relax with a coffee on the veranda or enjoy the sunset with a cocktail on the deck, these grounds have been designed to help you unwind.

Set on the crest of a hill, overlooking the picturesque market town of Stow on the Wold, Crestow House is perfectly situated to explore the rich history of the Cotswolds. Discover the fascinating past of the town itself, which was built on the site of an Iron Age fort, visit the Cotswold Distillery, Blenheim Palace or Cheltenham Racecourse nearby or simply wander around some of the local towns. The area is home to some of the most beautiful countryside and villages in the country and you won’t find anywhere else that feels quite so quintessentially English.
