The Details...

Weave unforgettable tales of whimsy and romance, at these vintage gypsy wagons in Co Wicklow, Ireland. Hitched up in the beguiling beauty of the mesmerising Emerald Isle, the Clissmann Horse Caravans are for glamping in the wild. Spy prancing deer and darting rabbits in the depths of the forest, exploring the spellbinding mountains and meandering river waters. Embark on fun-filled childhood adventures or sweet, loved-up days, leaving the screens behind and embracing Mother Natures ways.

The off-grid travellers camp is set on a 100acre farm, just one hour from Dublin in rural Cronybyrne. Surrounded by mature woodland trees and rugged open pastures, its nearest neighbours are Irish Cobs and well-travelled donkeys. Share stories with the camp and toast marshmallows on the fire or hide away with loved ones beneath the shimmering star-lit skies.

Each of the four handcrafted caravans is brimming with its own fanciful charm and has a tranquil, free-spirit and an uncomplicated soul. Perched up on wheels and with a vibrant glare, they have an iconic silhouette and an artistic flair. Expect bright reds and yellows beside deep, natural greens, framing quaint shuttered windows and colourful bunting frills.

Inside, the wagons are small but perfectly formed, dressed with a cosy style and a careful attention to detail. There are comfy seating areas which transform into two double beds, next to a compact kitchenette for your rousing morning breakfasts. Cook on the two-burner gas hob or on the small gas grill, keeping milk in the cool boxes and fetching water from the well. Flickering gas lights add a nostalgic ambience and are joined by hot water bottles and thick woollen blankets.

Take a short walk from your wagon to find the shared living block, complete with modern bathrooms and an indoor living-dining spot. If you cant bare to be without it, then theres even WIFI available here, along with electric charging points and a communal fridge/freezer.

Lyrical natural landscapes adorn the Co Wicklow backdrop and include the Wicklow Mountains National Park and the captivating Glendalough Valley. Cycle through the magical hillsides and through the heather-clad moors, stopping off beside the crystal-clear lakes and their sublime, sparkling shores. There are scenic glacial valleys fringed by thick, mysterious forests, along with spiritual Monastic sites and the famous Wicklow walking trail. For the true travelling experience, you can even take your wagon out on tour, taking horse instruction lessons and hitting the Great Outdoors.
