This beautiful, off-grid cabin offers couples a fantastic location for a romantic getaway in rural North Yorkshire. Tucked away in its own private slice of forest, Brook is a wonderfully hand-crafted retreat that sits within a peaceful and tranquil setting.
The cabin has been thoughtfully designed, and has a studio layout, with huge glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light and offer lovely views of the surrounding greenery and woodland. And, if you open up these doors and let the outside in, you can breathe in that fresh summer air as you enjoy your first coffee of the day in bed.
Step outside and unwind on your private wooded deck, which offers you the chance to soak in the serenity, surrounded by picturesque woodland with nothing but the sound of the leaves and a trickling stream to soothe you. You even have your own fire-bowl, so you can stay toasty and warm enjoying an evening tipple as the stars come out above.
Back inside, the cabin has cosy touches and natural textiles that combine to create a calming escape. The centrepiece of the living space is the hand-crafted king size bed that has a striking headboard made from mountain ash and oak that has been harvested from the land around you. There’s also a comfy sofa next to the bed, offering a nice spot to unwind with a good book as you take in your surroundings. This sofa can be converted into a bed for a third guest on request. On cooler days be sure to light the wood-burning fireplace to stay cosy and warm.
Just off the living space is a compact kitchenette that features a gas double burner and fridge with an ice box, ideal for breakfast in bed or dinner by candlelight. The cabin also has a modern bathroom with a flushing toilet and plenty of hot water, whilst the open-air shower, built around living trees on the deck, allows you to enjoy a morning soak beneath the open sky.
If you wish to venture out, you can explore the charming market town of Helmsley just a short drive away, that is perfect for browsing boutiques, enjoying artisan treats or relaxing at the luxurious Verbena Spa. Or, discover Rievaulx Abbey, a scenic four-mile walk from your door, with a picturesque cafe stop and breathtaking views from Rievaulx Terrace. For seaside fun, head an hour east to the coast - skip the crowds of Whitby and uncover the magic of Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes, with their cobbled streets and coastal trails.
