Situated deep in the heart of the Cotswolds, The Bledington Barn has been beautifully renovated throughout and is now a stunning Eco-friendly retreat, tucked away in this truly captivating part of the country.
Surrounded by mile upon mile of rolling countryside, this carefully crafted conversion has been designed with both conservation and high end style in mind. Using a heady mix of re-purposed materials and luxury adornments, this 300 year old barn has been transformed to offer superb self catering accommodation for up to six guests.
From the minute you enter the Barn you will appreciate just how much love and care has gone into bringing this wonderful barn back to life. The hallway with its engineered brick floor and beamed walls, is the perfect example of old Cotswold charm mixed with contemporary chic. Bare wooden stairs spiral out of sight, leading to the first floor bedrooms and bathroom.
Step through the large, reclaimed wood door and into the open plan kitchen area, where a cook’s dream awaits. Contemporary white units, topped with wrap around stainless steel worktops give a cutting edge feel to the space, whilst still blending seamlessly with the thick Cotswolds brick walls.
You and your guests will find everything your need in the kitchen including top of the range Gaggenau appliances, a microwave, a dishwasher, fridge and freezer, a kettle and a toaster as well as all the cutlery, dishes, silverware and a handy separate breakfast area that can seat five.
The formal dining area caters for eight, and is the perfect spot for enjoying a lazy breakfast with your guests, or a quick supper after a long day exploring the beauty of the Cotswolds. There is also a downstairs toilet and a separate dedicated laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer on the ground floor.
The huge open plan, double height living room is an utter delight, that offers enough comfortable seating for you all to kick back and relax in. Soft, sumptuous sofas are perfectly placed next to up-cycled tables, while vintage style rugs add texture to the brick floors and exposed walls. You will always feel warm and cosy in here as the house is heated using underfloor heating, cleverly powered by a wood pellet boiler.
Upstairs there are three beautiful bedrooms all designed to offer the perfect nights sleep. The master bedroom, with its king size bed and reclaimed furniture is picture perfect, with traditional windows built into the deep brick walls. Walls made of beams and wooden floors add the authentic feel you would expect to find in a property as old as this one.
The twin bedroom has the same bright and airy old world charm as the master, and a the third bedroom is quaint and features a sleigh bed with pull-out trundle.
The family bathroom is once again perfectly crafted and includes a bath, a shower and two stunning, large Corian sinks. In keeping with the Eco-friendy theme of the house, the original cowshed window has been transformed into a large bathroom mirror, and the hay loft ladder is now a towel rail.
It is not just the inside of The Bledington Barn that is beautiful, the outside is just as divine. Situated in the grounds of the owner’s farmhouse, on the edge of the picturesque village green, The Bledington Barn offers total privacy.
If you do want to get out and explore the local area, the nearby town of Chipping Norton offers plenty of traditional Cotswold pubs, shops and restaurants, or head out a little further to experience the grandeur of nearby Blenheim Palace or to see the lions at the Cotswolds Wildlife Park.
