In the sleepy village of Riddlington, just 20 miles north east of Norwich, lies the stunning Big Sky Barn. A 200-year-old brick and flint character barn that has undergone a total transformation that now offers the ultimate in luxurious rural holiday accommodation
An uber stylish and carefully thought out conversion, Big Sky Barn is a cut above the other properties in the area. You and your group will want for nothing during your stay and will be swathed in luxury in this unique rural location. Set in the middle of stunning open countryside, with long distance views, you really can escape to the country in Big Sky Barn. What’s more, the property is only a mile away from beautiful Walcott beach, bringing you the perfect combination of seaside holiday and rural retreat.
The kitchen and dining areas are sleek and stylish, with tiled flooring, exposed brick and flint feature walls and large windows. As perfectly presented as any high end property should be, the kitchen is fully fitted and comes with oven, hob, microwave, wine cooler, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There is also underfloor heating for keep toes toasty on chilly days.
The living areas is cosy yet cool, with big soft sofas and mid-century styling throughout. The wide screen TV comes with Sky, Netflix and a DVD player, for you to enjoy evenings spent with friends and family. The huge barn windows and sliding doors offer uninterrupted views out into the garden, and out to the rolling countryside beyond. Chill out in here and you will be in no doubt that you really are getting away from it all.
Carry on through to the master bedroom and you will find a super kingsize bed, en-suite shower room and your very own private patio. With exposed brick and wood panel feature walls, polished wood flooring and first class furnishings, the bedrooms are as good as you would find in any 5-star hotel. The en-suite offers a waterfall wet room style shower and modern fittings, whilst soft fluffy towels come as standard.
The second bedroom offers a 6’ zip and link bed that can be converted to two 3’ singles on request, as well as a second en-suite shower room for the convenience of your fellow visitors. Both beds are covered with soft, heavy duvets that will guarantee a good nights sleep in this peaceful rural idyll.
Outside the property there is a sizeable patio area and lawn accessed via large sliding doors that open from the living area. This space is fully enclosed and makes a great place for the children to play in. The garden table and chairs are just right for enjoying a glass of something cool on a warm summers evening, or a spot of alfresco dining during the day. The barn overlooks miles of open countryside and there are some lovely walks to enjoy directly outside the property.
The village lies just one mile inland from the North Norfolk coastline, and the barn is conveniently located within easy reach of Walcott Beach, while dog-friendly Happisbugh Beach is just a bit further down the coast. The Norfolk Broads National Park is also within reach and has over 125 miles of navigable lock free waterways, as well as an abundance of birds and wildlife.
Nearby North Walsham, just 15 minutes’ drive away, has all the local amenities needed for your stay. A little further afield are the pretty market towns of Aylsham, Holt and Sheringham which all have a wide range of shops and places to eat.

Leave a reviewA lovely barn, super comfy beds, great layout, very accessible and lots of outside space for the dog and really helpful electric gate. Welcome hamper was excellent and lasted days. Had some fun watching films with the Sky TV that we don’t have at home. One star off for kitchen, it’s lovely, but tiny fridge, not that well lit for prep and slightly tired utensils and cutlery also the water pressure in the main shower was low. If I could give 4.5 stars I would as the owner was extremely helpful and straight away provided a frying pan when I mentioned there wasn’t one. Lots of walks direct from the barn and easy to get to the beeches.
