The WeidumerHout hotel is nestled within 3.5 acres of private countryside and is an authentic Frisian farmhouse dating back to the 19th century. With a large sloping roof and restored brickwork it has a distinctive exterior which is characteristic of the era. Inside, there is an exquisite blend of old and new with exposed beams and rustic features joined by stylish, modern luxuries.

The main farmhouse building is home to 10 spacious bedrooms which have large sumptuous beds and chic, en-suite bathrooms. Ranging from ‘luxury’ to ‘extra luxury’ in their design, they each display creative touches and a subtle, designer style.
Outside, there are also five innovative cube rooms that have their own exclusive spot amongst the lush, rolling fields. Made from natural wood and with clean, minimalist lines, they are standalone pods that are a real one of a kind. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the tranquil scenes, while king-size beds are joined by deluxe en-suites. With sensational views and a cosy, intimate vibe, they are perfect for couples who want to unwind.

Back in the main courtyard, there is also a Finnish sauna and solarium, along with an acclaimed hotel restaurant that serves delicious local dishes. Set in a renovated farm building and with modern-rustic interiors, it is a wonderful choice for tasting fresh, seasonal produce.

The Friesland area of the Netherlands is known for its deep cultural roots and has its own heavenly setting and rich, interesting history. Pretty canals weave through charming towns and villages, while cycling routes and walking paths lead into the characterful cities. The old city of Leeuwarden is just 6KM’s away and is known for its atmospheric cobbled streets and distinctive waterways.
