The Detail...
Located on the stunning south coast of Puglia, in over 20 acres of Mediterranean gardens and parkland, Masseria Casina Baronale is perfect for a relaxing Italian escape. The Masseria, a grand 19th-century farmhouse was once the country residence of one of the region’s noble families. Now, the estate has a range of accommodation options for holidaymakers and friends, families and couples are all catered for. The suites are surrounded by green spaces with ancient olive trees, oak trees and pines creating an authentic Salento experience. In the midst of these beautiful trees, you’ll find the large infinity pool with a solarium and gazebo, the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine.
Masseria Casina Baronale’s rooms and suites are all unique with their own character but all exemplify the Salento-inspired country-chic style. You’ll find beautiful ceilings with star vaults, elegantly creating a light and airy atmosphere, and luxurious soft furnishings, seamlessly combining traditional architecture with modern comfort. The decor complements the rural surroundings of the Masseria and each of the rooms and suites have been named after the plants and trees that grow on the estate. For example, the luxurious Corbezzolo suite is named after the strawberry tree and one of the spacious junior suites is named ‘Timo’, which translates to Thyme. Rooms on the ground floor enjoy large patios while on the first floor, you can enjoy the stunning views over the estate and the Italian countryside.
The 18-metre swimming pool is the perfect place to spend a lazy day. Surrounded by the estate’s beautiful trees and with sun loungers and gazebos providing plenty of shade, you can relax peacefully for as long as you like. For families with young children, the pool area is fenced off and there’s a shallow area so the kids can easily go for a paddle.
Located in the heel of Italy, Puglia’s Salento has a rich history filled with art and culture. This, along with over 400km of spectacular coastline, calm seas and beautiful beaches, means there’s something for everyone to enjoy. When you’re not relaxing by the pool or spending the day at the beach, there are castles, churches, fortresses, towers and art galleries to explore in historic Otranto and nearby Lecce. You can also reach the beautiful Gallipoli on the Ionian coast in just half an hour by car and discover its fascinating history. Or, just lie back with a book next to the pool back at the Masseria and enjoy the sunshine.
