St. George Court is a luxury hideout near to the ancient village of Humac and has an original farmhouse along with two separate bedroom apartments. Set within a rugged stone courtyard and with lush, exotic gardens, it is a remote sanctuary for lovers of the warm Mediterranean climate. Dine alfresco on the terrace or read a book beneath the trees, playing tennis on the courts and cooling off in the gentle, sea breeze.

The farmhouse and apartments ooze with historic island character and have craggy stone faces and simple, rustic interiors. Expect rough beamed ceilings and aged, open rafters looking down on natural, mottled walls and bare, tiled flooring. Sheer drapes billow from the quaint shuttered windows and are joined by a handpicked selection of beautiful antique furniture.

The main living quarters are found in the central house and include a glass-walled living room and a bucolic kitchen-diner. Upstairs, you’ll find two of the four family bedrooms, both with an en-suite bathroom and a double and a single. One also has an additional sofa bed, providing ample room for up to four weary heads.

Two further bedrooms can then be found in the two garden apartments, with their own modern bathrooms and spacious sleeping quarters. The smaller of the two is a double with a single sofa bed, while the larger twin room has a double sofa and two single beds.

Hvar Island is known for its blend of history and nature and is the second largest of the Croatian Dalmatian Islands. Just 2 hours from Split and with views across to Italy, it is a magical island where you can uncover land, sea and mountains. Visit the nearby caves and Neolithic sites, or the sleepy village of Humac with its slower pace of life. The seaside town of Jelsa can also be found nearby, while elegant Hvar Town is just 30 minutes away. For a more relaxed day, you can chill-out by the pool, catching up with friends and admiring nature’s jewels.
