Discover the wonders of ancient Italy with a stay at this G-Rough hotel in the Eternal City. Overlooking Piazza Navona and its famous talking sculptures, it is a magnificent place hidden in Rome’s inner centre. Wander through the medieval streets or through the bustling squares or to the fascinating museums and through architectural gems. With an ageing grandeur and an endless love of the arts, this hotel encapsulates the city’s real heart.

The G-Rough Hotel is a five-storey building that dates back as far as the 17th century. Blending vintage designs with iconic Italian brands, it is now an uber-trendy hang-out with 10 artistic pads. Its rough-luxe concept pervades deep into every corner and fuses luxury furnishings with stark, original qualities. Its bare features have been left purposefully untouched and showcase cracked paintings, patina walls, and faded floor coverings.

Each king-size suite has its own unique style and pays homage to an early twentieth century designer. Spot the mosaic tiles by Seletti or the Gio Ponti bar or the Seguso Murano glass or the Parisi statement art. Distressed antiques tell their own extraordinary story and sit beside rich fabrics and traces of lavish décor. With creative art pieces also cleverly displayed, the rooms take you on a journey from the ancient times through to the modern day.

The largest of the suites even have their own private balcony with views looking over the inspirational city. Look out for the St Agnes Dome or the Piazza di Pasquino square or for the elegant city rooftops and their charming architecture. If you need some extra space then there are also a handful of deluxe apartments that have two comfortable bedrooms and a bijoux kitchenette.

On the ground floor of the hotel, you’ll find a fashionable bistro that houses niche wines and contemporary, local art. Perfect for indulging in some of the region’s most exclusive wines, it is a stylish place to start your night.

During the day, there are a myriad of sights to be seen including historical monuments, noble statues and elaborate frescoes. Centuries-old relics line the illustrious museums, while priceless artwork hangs in the breath-taking galleries. Ask your personal lifestyle manager to show you the alternative highlights and you can even head underground to see the origins of the city.
