Sitting on a family-owned farm in the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside is Willow Cottage. This recently renovated self-catering cottage provides everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This includes your own spacious open planned living area, a private half-acre garden with outdoor seating, and a cinema room! And to top it off it's a dog-friendly property so you can bring your canine companion with you. If that wasn't enough, Willow sits near the border of both Norfolk and Suffolk. So, you will have the perfect base to explore England's East. Ideal for gatherings of friends and family, you're sure to fall in love the moment you step through the door.
The spacious cottage has a bright, open, and airy atmosphere, while the décor and furnishings have a contemporary, yet country feel. Vaunted ceilings are found throughout, supported by exposed timber beams in the central living area. The property sleeps eight across four bedrooms. All the rooms have zip link beds, meaning guests have the option of either two singles or one super king-size bed in each. Two of the rooms benefit from en-suites and there is a large family bathroom complete with a bath and walk-in shower.
The open-planned kitchen and dining area is the perfect setting from which to enjoy your evening meals. The dining area has ample seating for everybody, and the fully equipped kitchen includes a wine fridge and two ovens. The spacious lounge has two comfy sofas, a wood burner, and looks out to the half-acre garden through floor to ceiling windows. For al fresco dining, there is outdoor seating for eight, and a BBQ is available upon request for a small fee. Just behind the garden is the Old West River.
The Cambridgeshire Fens are a now drained, naturally marshy, coastal plain of eastern England. The area is known for its flat, low-lying lands, man-made rivers, and beautiful scenery. Gravel Farm itself is a stone's throw from Wicken Fen nature reserve and has direct access to various riverside walks. These routes are perfect for long walks, cycling, or even a spot of kayaking. For the amateur ornithologist, the region is great for a spot of birdwatching. The historic cathedral of Ely is five miles from the farm, while the world-famous university city of Cambridge is just a short drive. The farm being very near to the counties of Suffolk and Norfolk also makes it the ideal base from which to explore the wider East Anglia region.
