The detail

From its humble origins as a 19th Century stone threshing barn, cart shed, and livestock building, West Barn Lodge is now luxury accommodation for up to 20 people in the picturesque Fovant in Wiltshire. Nestled at the base of the historic Fovant Badges and with spectacular views of the valley, this is the perfect property for large groups who are looking to escape to the countryside.

There is plenty of space to relax and unwind, with the grand hall being the centre of the social areas. Located in the former barn, the exposed stone walls and high ceilings make for a truly impressive space. At one end of the room is a spacious seating area in front of the wood burning stove, while at the other is a large dining table. Meals can be prepared in the modern and fully equipped kitchen, which has all the space and accessories required for creating delicious meals for big numbers. Elsewhere, there is a games room with a pool table and juke box to keep those of all ages entertained, while the cinema snug is ideal for cozying up in front of a film.

There are nine superking bedrooms, seven of which are located on the ground floor while the other two are found on the mezzanine level accessed from the grand hall. Five of the bedrooms can be converted into twins to ensure versatility and all of them come complete with an en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower.

On those warm summer evenings guests can venture outside onto the terrace with its outdoor seating and barbecue. When the evening draws in guests can then gather around the firepit, or alternatively add a little bit of luxury by hopping into the hot tub.

Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, West Barn Lodge is perfectly situated for getting out and about. There are several footpaths that lead straight from the property into the Fovant Downs. The villages of Fovant and Tisbury are close by, with the latter close to Wardour Castle. Salisbury with its famous cathedral and array of pubs, restaurants, and independent shops is also just a short drive away. As is Stonehenge, Wilton, and Shaftesbury.
