Enjoy the perfect lazy Tuscan holiday at this superb traditional villa with large pool and views for miles.
Villa Borgo Gerlino is a superb family-sized villa with a large private swimming pool, tucked away in the glorious Tuscan countryside.
Everything about this villa is welcoming and comfortable. It sleeps up to 20 in nine gorgeous en suite rooms and with the spacious living areas, beautiful gardens, private pool, plus sauna and jacuzzi, the only problem is you won't want to leave.
Situated on the slopes of a valley, surrounded by rolling countryside and panoramic views, Borgo Gerlino has the feel of a little hamlet, with its solid stone walls and winding passageways. Much has been done to retain the old Tuscan character of the villa, which has traditional 'cotto' tiled floors, lovely old wooden ceiling beams and a hoard of antique furniture and paintings to complement the modern luxuries.
The main villa consists of ground floor, mezzanine, and first floor. The living room, with its open fireplace and beamed ceiling, dining room seating 20, and well-equipped kitchen are to be found on the ground floor. The mezzanine floor has two double bedrooms, one with access to the gardens, plus a laundry room. On the first floor are five bedrooms, two with private garden access and two delightful suites, with canopy four poster beds.
Outside in the annex beside the main house are two more double bedrooms, both also en suite. All rooms in Villa Borgo are doubles, but two can be converted to sleep three, meaning the house can sleep between 18 - 20 guests. Several of the rooms can also be converted into twin accommodation.
Also within the annex is a jacuzzi and a sauna - ideal for after a long dip in the villa's stunning swimming pool. As well as the pool, with its nearby gazebo and sun-loungers, the well-tended gardens also contain an outdoor dining area, BBQ, wood-fired pizza oven, perfect for long and lazy evenings under the Tuscan stars.
Villa Borgo is just under 6km from the ancient town of Ambra, with its twisty lanes and fortified old town. In the summer there are concerts and a 'cinema under the stars' in the town square. It has a good collection of little shops - a bakery, grocery stores, plus a lovely market on Tuesdays. Further afield, the galleries, churches and restaurants of the world famous city of Sienna are only 22km away,
