The detail

Situated in the heart of the New Forest National Park, surrounded by ancient trees and an abundance of wildlife, this spacious house offers stunning views and accommodation larger groups and families wishing to make special memories together. The views from the house are stunning and guests are treated to uninterrupted vistas of this wonderful slice of nature which retains its magic throughout the year, whatever the season or the weather. The house, which is a real home from home, has been renovated to ensure guests never miss a moment of this magic.

Entering through the back door and into the all-important boot room, guests find themselves in the welcoming country-style kitchen. Wooden cabinets create the character in this fantastically well-equipped kitchen which has a cosy Aga range oven and plenty of surfaces for chopping and slicing. Meals are enjoyed at the fabulous 10 seater dining table where groups can spend hours eating, laughing and catching up.

An incredibly relaxing living area is the place to be after dinner, large comfy sofas and armchairs sit before a big television, waiting for guests to sink into and continue the festivities. Patio doors run along the open plan living and dining area, and there are windows galore throughout, filling the property with natural light and showing off the wonderful location.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, two en-suite king-sized and two singles. In the downstairs annexe there are two further bedrooms, a king-size and a double - both en suite - which have patio doors ready to be flung open on bright sunny mornings and, perhaps, left open throughout balmy summer nights.

The garden is bliss. The house is surrounded by flat lawns to the fore, and sculpted for the hill behind the house. Where the ridgeline drops steeply down into the valley, there are established cottage style gardens full of mature shrubs, roses, and ferns. There are some standout oaks that surround the property and in autumn the colours here are very special. The wisteria covered terrace is a particularly beautiful place to sit and listen and watch. There is a big garden table for outdoor meals, and another smaller table over toward the annexe. Children will love playing on the lawns or heading out into the National Park where they can run, jump, go wild and have about 200 acres of freedom for picnics and play

The area is famous for its wildlife, endless ferns and ancient trees, so hikers and bikers will be in their element. And, with fantastic views and picnic spots to be found just moments away, guests can be excused for never leaving the peripheries of the property during their stay.

For evenings out, saunter down the lane to The Foresters Arms, a traditional pub where visitors can enjoy pints of the local New Forest brews. A 20 minute drive takes guests to The Royal Oak at Fritham, another favourite.

Detailed pricing info

Please expect our short stays to be 60%+ of our week prices. We are not a hotel and it takes a huge amount of work, especially with COVID around, to make the house clean and right for guests.

The prices above give a guide only. In peak season the price can be higher than the 'to' price shown here. We use a dynamic pricing structure which means prices can fluctuate slightly on a daily basis. Pricing depends on demand for this house and across the area. We cannot guarantee the prices quoted today will be the same in the future.
