Perfectly located for trips to the beach, jaunts to the charming town of Bude and a mixture of cosy nights in and evenings out on the town, The Wishbone offers honeymooners, individual travellers, and any other guests a calm and interesting self-catering space from which to get to know Cornwall.
The space itself is largely open plan, with exposed timber rafters overhead, and a combination of tiling, whitewashed walls and large windows. No detail has been overlooked and no expense spared in creating the perfect retreat for two, from the wood-burning stove guaranteed to keep you cosy in the colder months to the Netflix-enabled Smart TV, perfect for lazy evenings after a long day spent exploring. Judicious design choices have resulted in a deceptively spacious interior, with a high arched ceiling, and enviable views. Outside, the property has a private courtyard garden complete with a hot tub. This is the ideal spot to enjoy a relaxing soak with your loved one whilst sipping on something bubbly!
The main living space and bedroom offers everything you need in an open space with free flowing lines, and an informal, domestic atmosphere. The kitchen is simple but functional, and perfect for whipping up everything from a hearty breakfast to a romantic dinner of local fish, as well as a picnic to bring with you for an afternoon on the beach. In the same room you'll find a dining table, a cosy sofa, and the entertainment system, all softly lit and well chosen. There is a real Scandinavian feel to the space, and from your first cup of coffee in the courtyard outside to the moment you curl up into bed for a peaceful night, you're guaranteed to feel tranquil and comfortable.
The village shop and local pub are within easy walking distance, while Bude is the nearest bigger settlement and is around four miles away. Whether you fancy a day at the beach or an afternoon pottering around local studios and galleries, a fish-heavy meal or a casual BBQ at home, The Wishbone is ideally placed for taking advantage of the charms and delights of Cornwall. From National Trust houses and gardens to quaint older country pubs with great cider, this region really does have something for every taste.

Leave a reviewMy partner and I booked a long weekend at the Wishbone in Feb with Chris and Jan and it was fantastic. The accommodation itself was gorgeous, a lot bigger than it looks in the photos! From the furnishing to all of the little things thought of - Cosy blankets, slippers and robes, everything you need to cook with, games and books. It was amazing. Chris and Jan were also very helpful with taxi's and recommendations for days out and places to eat and drink. I would highly recommend staying here or any of the other properties they have! My partner and I wanted a cosy place to go for a few days with easy access to Cornwall so we could explore. This place was absolutely lovely and the hosts were on hand to give us some recommendations of where to visit. The Wishbone was lovely and we would definitely like to return in the future! It had everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
