Located on a farm in Devon, this floating glamping pod is the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle and unwind. During the day, explore Devon’s stunning countryside before returning to your hideaway to lounge in the hammock suspended above the lake or sit out on the deck with a bottle of the farm’s award-winning wine. Cook out on the deck and stargaze late into the evening before snuggling up in front of the wood burner inside. Created with local timber and using solar power it’s also a great choice for those looking for an eco-friendly holiday.
The stylish pod is a domed timber structure with beautiful views over the lake and skylights above the bed that are perfect for stargazing. The main space is open plan with a wood burner to keep you toasty whatever the weather. Snuggle up on one of the beanbags in front of the fire with a book from the shelves or get stuck into a board game. There’s no phone signal out here, so you’ll be free from any digital distractions.
The luxurious king size handmade bed is complete with bamboo bed linen and soft lighting lines the timber frame, creating a cosy atmosphere. The bathroom features a bespoke walk-in shower and an eco-friendly waterless composting loo system. A gas boiler means that hot water is available on demand.
You’ll be able to rustle up simple meals in the well equipped kitchen and there’s also a BBQ outside on the deck. While a late lunch sizzles away on the grill soak up the lake views from the comfy outdoor chairs or the hammock suspended above the water.
Located on the edge of Dartmoor and close to the Cornish border, there’s plenty to do in the surrounding area. If you’re interested in wine, the farm has its own vineyard and tours and tastings are available. You’ll be able to buy a bottle of award-winning wine to try back at the Lilypod or enjoy a meal at the restaurant. The rugged Devonshire landscape is perfect for any number of outdoor activities, from hiking and biking to horseriding. It’s also close enough to Cornwall to head down to Tintagel or Boscastle on the North Coast for spectacular sea views and you can even walk between the two villages as part of the South West Coastal Path.
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 2 nights weekdays & 3 nights weekends (May-Oct).
