Tucked away from the crowds on a family-run site, and surrounded by the natural beauty of North Cornwall, these Mongolion Yurts provide cosy and stylish accommodation, ideal for visitors wishing to enjoy the camping experience without compromising comfort.
Each of the five yurts sits raised up on wooden decks which keep the mud at bay during those times when the rain blows in from the coast. They are traditional yurts imported from Mongolia with attractive wooden felt-covered frames and waterproof canvases which keeps guests warm and dry, whatever the weather. Visitors are kept extra toasty thanks to the wood burners which provide the centrepiece to the stylish interior. A basketful of logs sits waiting to be fed to the fire when guests return from days exploring and want to enjoy the warmth and atmosphere only a real fire can bring.
Large 'fatboy' style bean bag and futons create a comfy, fun and hugely relaxing lounging area, while the wooden framed double beds ensure guests don't miss a moment's sleep. Sturdy chests of drawers provide plenty of storage space for belongings. In the morning, wake up to natural light pouring through the circular window in the centre of the roof, and look forward to breakfast outdoors on the deck or at the dining table and chairs inside the yurt. There is electricity, WiFi and refrigeration - for keeping the milk fresh and the wine chilled. Each yurt has its own undercover outdoor kitchen, complete with pots, pans and utensils, so start the day in a leisurely way, with a full cooked breakfast while enjoying the birdsong. Guests can order the ‘Banger brekky glamper hamper‘ and all their cooked breakfast essentials will be waiting for them on arrival.
Bathrooms are situated in a separate block, just a few steps from the yurts. They are modern and stylish with hot water for refreshing showers at the start of the day.
There is plenty to do on the East Thorne site but the North Cornwall coastline has some of England's most stunning beaches. Surfers will want to get in the drink at Bude and there are plenty of surf schools for beginners to have a go. The coastal path will keep hikers happy for days and for rumbling tummies their are plenty of places to try the region's great food. Grab picnic goodies and some of the famed pasties in Clovelly, a picture perfect village where donkeys carry goods up the steep car-free streets. Or try The London Inn, a short walk from the Yurts, which is a popular spot for a pint and a burger, while foodies will enjoy The Deck in Bude which offers a delicious menu that features fresh local ingredients.
