If you want to feel truly regal on your next British break, why not stay in The White Tower Of Taymouth Castle to satisfy your inner king or queen. A place of exceptional peace and beauty, the White Tower offers magnificent accommodation set over three floors and with far reaching views across eight acres of private woodland.
Easily accessible yet still somehow totally private, The White Tower is an ancient building that has been impeccably restored by an award-winning architect and his graphic artist wife, to offer every possible modern convenience in a truly luxurious setting. Surrounded on all sides by breathtaking scenery, the tower was formerly the lookout for the castle and the honeymoon destination for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, amongst other romantically inclined royals.
From the moment you enter the Tower you will be impressed by the heady mix of the old and the new. Expertly chosen fabrics and furnishings can be found throughout the property and every room has been carefully designed down to the very last detail.
The kitchen has all you need during your stay including an electric oven with induction hob, a microwave, a fridge freezer and a dishwasher. Solid white units stand out against granite work surfaces and flag stone flooring, whilst touches of Harris tweed add texture to the room. Carry on through to the dining area, and enjoy your meals as you take in the view out onto the patio, and across the rolling countryside beyond. If the weather is clement, throw open the patio doors and let the outside in.
The sitting room with its arched windows, comes complete with deep leather sofas, Harris tweed drapes and a wood burning stove, that come together to transform this room into a true highland delight. Stylish and sumptuous, you and yours will enjoy spending cosy evenings by the fire.
The bedrooms in the Tower continue the theme of opulence and definitely do not disappoint. The master suite is a circular room and a spectacular bedroom! Boasting the most wonderful drapes, textiles and fabrics, it also comes with its own luxury bathroom. With a stunning roll-top bath and deluxe fixtures and fittings, cleaning up has never felt so luxurious.
The second bedroom is just as opulent with soft, sumptuous linens and grand furniture worthy of such a fantastic location.
The Tower is not just about beautiful furnishings and fabrics, it is also about the added extras you wouldn't find anywhere else. Lose yourself in your favourite book in the magnificent library, or warm up your cockles in the wooden sauna. You can even catch the views from your very own hot tub set behind the turrets of the Tower if the mood takes you.
If you feel the need to leave your beautiful bolthole, The White Tower is only a 10 minute drive from Loch Tay and the beautiful Perthshire village of Kenmore. If you are feeling adventurous you can find a wide range of water sports in the local area including sailing, canoeing, water-skiing and jet-biking. For visitors seeking more leisurely pursuits, try fishing or a round of golf at the Aberfeldy Golf Club, while the Scottish Crannog Centre is a fascinating reconstruction of an ancient loch dwelling, and well worth a visit.
The surrounding villages offer plenty of friendly Scottish pubs and restaurants offering first class food and the cosy atmosphere you would expect from highland hospitality.
