  The Detail...

Get a taste of life on an organic farm with a stay at Beechenhill Farm, set in the beautiful landscape of the Peak District National Park. The Old Wash House provides cosy and eco-friendly accommodation for two. Tucked away in the guest wing of the traditional farmhouse, this cottage enjoys stunning views across the valley from the bedroom upstairs. Downstairs, the cosy living room features a log burning stove and the kitchen is flooded with natural light thanks to its glass roof. The cottage also has access to a Swedish wood-fired hot tub and a barrel sauna in the farmhouse gardens.

Step inside the cottage and head through to the inviting living room with sofas and armchairs gathered around a log burner set in one of the farmhouses traditional fireplaces. Theres plenty of room to set up a board game or two and a flat screen TV in case you fancy snuggling up in front of a film in the evening. At the far end, youll find the doorway through to the beautiful kitchen with its glass roof. This was once the wash house the cottage is named after. Its now kitted out with a full range of kitchen appliances and a large table from which you can watch the cows on their way to milking.

Head upstairs to the traditional farmhouse bedroom with a sumptuous canopied king-sized bed. This room enjoys spectacular views across the garden and out over the Peak District National Park. The ensuite bathroom features a luxurious rainfall shower and is again furnished in a traditional style.

The cottage has access to the farmhouse garden at the front with outdoor furniture, sweeping lawns and more gorgeous views. If you prefer your own private space, the cottage has its own patio at the back which is the perfect spot for catching the last few rays of sun in the evenings.

Beechenhill Farm also has a hot tub and a sauna for a bit of extra holiday luxury. At the bottom of the garden, youll find a Swedish wood-fired hot tub and a secret cave. Enjoy a romantic evening under the stars relaxing in the hot tub by candlelight before moving through to the cosy log fire heated cave. Alternatively, try the Swedish barrel sauna before cooling off in the outdoor rainfall shower. Theres also a fire pit where you can roast marshmallows while snuggled up in fluffy robes. Both the hot tub and sauna are popular so guests are advised to book ahead.

Explore the Peak District National Park by foot or bike right from your front door. There are countless walking and cycling trails in the local area, including a popular circular route via The Old Dog pub at Thorpe. Theres plenty to discover locally, from spectacular stately homes such as Chatsworth House and Kedleston Hall to the unique caves and caverns the Peak District is known for. Learn about some local and some more exotic wildlife at the Peak District Wildlife Park or try your hand at sailing or paddleboarding at Carsington Water or Tittesworth Water. All before a cosy evening back at the farm.
