At the foot of the Cheviot Hills in the heart of beautiful Northumberland, The Station House is a wonderfully decadent and imposing house, offering accommodation for up to nine guests and two well behaved dogs, across four bedrooms. The dream self-catering option for larger groups of friends and family, The Station House is the sort of holiday property which youll be dreaming of long after you depart.

Everything about the Station House subtly suggests elegance, comfort and relaxation. From the large hot tub, set in the opulent gardens, to the comfortable living room with its wood-burning stove, this is a house which abounds in the extra details and pleasing features which make a great holiday.

On the ground floor, youll find the kitchen and dining room, a library, utility room, loo, shower room and a downstairs bedroom, ideal for guests with restricted mobility. Also on this level theres a large conservatory which runs the length of the house. Cook and eat in the well-stocked contemporary kitchen, or fire up the barbecue and enjoy an outdoors feast for the whole group.

Upstairs, there are three more bedrooms and a second bathroom. The bedrooms are configured as one double and two twin single rooms, although one of these twin rooms can also be configured as triple beds. This former train-station has been judiciously updated with the subtle addition of tasteful new features. Although the property has a grand, untouched faade, guests will be pleased to learn that inside it is brimming with modern amenities, from WiFi and a DVD enabled television to central heating. Ramble in the gardens while others work in the library; on rainy days youll find multiple activities can take place simultaneously.

Whether your fantasy break involves rising at the crack of dawn to spend all day fell-walking the Cheviots, drifting between the hot-tub and library, or perusing rare book shops and historic pubs, this is the perfect holiday house for you. With the coast a short drive away, Alnwick accessible via a thirty minute drive, and a number of brilliant family-friendly walks and nature reserves right on your doorstep, this is a perfect jumping-off spot from which to explore Northumberland. Make the day trip to the puffin-occupied Holy Island, take a train to the beaches of the Northeast, or stay in the immediate area, hiking the foothills and exploring the local businesses.
