  The Detail...

In the grounds of the magnificent St Giles House in Wimborne, Dorset, East and West Pepperpot Lodges provide romantic accommodation for a couples getaway. They offer a peaceful haven for guests looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. They also have their own fair share of history. Both lodges are decorated with antique pieces from St Giles House tastefully mixed with more modern furnishings. St Giles House was built in the mid-seventeenth century and has been the home of the Earls of Shaftesbury ever since. The house and the lodges sit in a 400-acre park which features a beautiful shell grotto and a serpentine lake.

The lodges themselves are much cosier than the grand main house but no less luxurious. Warm and inviting lounges have wood-burning stoves and comfy sofas which make the perfect place to relax in the evening after a day exploring the park. The country-style kitchens are equipped with everything youll need for a self-catering holiday, making cooking as easy as it is in your own home.

Each lodge has its own character demonstrated by the bold colour schemes and furnishings. However, each has a luxurious double bed with Egyptian cotton sheets and the bedrooms have porthole-style windows looking out over the countryside. Move through to the bathrooms and the beautifully tiled showers are complete with large waterfall showerheads.

Soak up the tranquil scenery from the patio, explore St Giles Park and the House or venture further afield into the Dorset countryside and coastline. If you want to explore a little more of the surrounding scenery, book yourself onto a Jurassic Safari and a guide will show you some of Dorsets most spectacular scenery in a Land Rover. For those who would rather take in the views from the water, theres a Harbour and Island Cruise from Poole Quay. If youre making a trip out to the coast, the beaches of Mudeford Quay provide the perfect spot to stop for a picnic lunch before wandering around some of the independent shops. A visit to the famous Old Harry Rocks and a walk along this beautiful part of the English coastline is a must.
