This sustainable eco cabin is set in its own private area of woodland just on the edges of the charming Highland village of Nethy Bridge. The hosts have crafted this little slice of paradise where respect for the land and guests' comfort work perfectly in unison. Why not book in for a couple's massage, or enjoy an evening under the stars in the wood fired hot tub? The Homestead truly is sustainable living at its cosiest.
The rustic interior is beautifully designed to create a homely air which is sure to relax guests the moment the threshold is crossed. The main area is comprised of a small living area, with seating and a warming wood burning stove. The kitchen area is well equipped, with fine oaken worktops. Larder essentials are provided. At night guests will sleep on the elevated Hebridean box bed. The skylight offers perfect views of the starry night-time sky. Take a step outside and you will be on the veranda, perfect for sitting back and soaking up the tranquillity. You neighbours will be a flock of chickens who love to say hello.
Being set in Cairngorms National Park makes The Homestead the perfect location for nature loves. The largest national park in the UK, Cairngorms is known for its wildlife, mountains, undulating hills and ancient woodland. All of this makes it a favourite for those who enjoy the great outdoors, with numerous activities on offer including walking, cycling, mountain biking, climbing, and canoeing. In the winter you can even enjoy some skiing at one of the three ski centres in Cairngorms.
A 20-minute drive to the south west of The Homestead is the resort town of Aviemore. Popular for its skiing and various winter sports, it also has several fine eateries to choose from. If you don't mind venturing a bit further, then the medieval city of Inverness is less than an hour's drive. There are also a number of fine pubs and restaurants nearby. Your hosts will be happy to point you in the right direction.
