Set amidst the stunning natural beauty of Suffolk’s 4500-acre Wilderness Estate, The Farmhouse is sure to get you raving about East Anglia. This delightful red-brick country home comes complete with thatched roof and views across to the lake – and with room for 12 of you, it will host one gorgeous group getaway.
Around 7 miles from the coast and within an hour of Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Diss, The Farmhouse is well-placed as a base for exploring all the east of England has to offer. Packed full of character, many of the rooms enjoy direct access to the grounds. Your party will have exclusive use of the house, which retains the oak beams and Suffolk brick floors of its 17th century origins.
Inside, take your pick of 6 beautiful en suite bedrooms, including 2 on the ground floor. King-size Hypnos beds, top-notch linens and underfloor heating come as standard, as does a wall-mounted TV and iPod dock in each one. The bathrooms are equally special – quirky and colourful with a free-standing bath or two to be found around the house. Fluffy robes and towels and Neal’s Yard toiletries add further notes of luxury to make sure you feel properly pampered.
Cooking and dining is a pleasure at The Farmhouse. Get breakfast going on the range, and enjoy it at leisure on the terrace, or at the solid wood 12-seater dining table adjacent to the kitchen. When it’s time to relax in the evening, you have 2 open fires, a cosy sitting room with LED Smart TV and, of course, Wi-Fi throughout. Alternatively, take a look outside. You’ll find an outdoor pool and a hot tub ready to revive you whatever the time of day you need it.
Add in a tennis court, parking and the thousands of acres of beautiful parkland on the Wilderness Estate, and you’re set for a break where you can really enjoy the great outdoors to the full. You can even bring your (well-behaved) pets – they are bound to love it too.
You will be within 15 minutes of the pretty coastal village Southwold, as well as Saxmundham town – the ideal place to stock up on your essentials. Fancy a drink? The award-winning White Horse in Sibton is within reasonable walking distance, and serves up some tasty local fare too.
