  The Detail...

Nothing says quirky" or cool like a weekend away on a converted bus. The Bus Stop is certainly that and offers seriously unique lodgings, along with oodles of charm and character. Carefully converted, youll never have to run for these three buses as they are permanently nestled within the stunning East Lothian countryside. Parked on a working farm just outside the village of Gifford, The Bus Stop offers everything you could need for a romantic break away with a difference. Choose from a two person, four person, or six person bus and enjoy a unique, comfy stay.

When you hop aboard each bus, you will see that every aspect of contemporary living has been considered right down to the smallest details. With natural wooden floors, and relaxing tones throughout, these charming buses take "Glamping" to whole other level. Plus they each have their own wood-fired hot tub for that added bit of luxury!

The four person bus has a cosy living area where you can warm your hands on the wood burning fireplace, or enjoy your evening meal sat around the built-in dining table. If the great outdoors has got you beat, climb the steps into the private bedroom, with a soft and sumptuous kingsize bed, complete with chic linens and throw pillows. In the main body of the bus there is also a cleverly conformed bunk bed.

The kitchen may be compact, but it still offers a fridge and freezer, a two ring hob, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, a variety of kitchen utensils and enough crockery for four people, perfect for preparing light meals for all the family.

However you chose to spend you days, or nights, at The Bus Stop, you will be able to enjoy the never-ending skyline as the roof above has been replaced with glass, and the original windows offer panoramic views over the Lammermuir Hills.

There is also a cute two person bus, that has a nice large kitchen and a double bed, making for a delightful romantic retreat. This bus has a king sized bed thats super comfy, and offers great views of the countryside. Theres also a wood burner for keeping you cosy, and your own wood-fired hot tub for luxurious evenings beneath the stars.

The larger, six person bus, has two king beds in private rooms and bunk beds in another room, making it ideal for groups of family and friends. It also has a larger seating area which is ideal for socialising, and, of course, another hot tub - this one is large enough to seat six!

There are no chilly trips to communal showers for visitors to The Bus Stop. All three buses have their own fully equipped bathroom with rainfall shower head, complimentary luxury toiletries and soft, luxury towels, your stay will feel like a five star hotel on wheels.

If you want to get involved with life on the farm, the farmer is usually on hand to show you around. Collect freshly laid eggs from the chicken coop, or visit the Alpacas. Spend lazy days exploring the farm, relaxing at the remote pond or walking the local trails.

If you feel you need to head back to civilisation, there is a small shop for essentials not far away, or you could visit the village of Gifford with two restaurants/bars, a newsagents, a shop, a cafe and a large play park for the little ones. The historic city of Edinburgh is only 30 minutes away, and within easy reach by train from a selection of local train stations.

The owners of The Bus Stop will be on hand throughout your stay, to offer advice on the local area and assist you with anything you need. Their aim is to provide a true make yourself at home atmosphere whilst offering you a hearty welcome and a great holiday at The Bus Stop.
