The Detail...
Nestled among the mountains, moorland, and lochs of the Scottish Highlands is The Bunkhouse. Located by Loch Garry it offers the opportunity to get back to nature in a tranquil setting, while still enjoying the comforts of modern life.
Sleeping up to four guests, the cosy cabin is constructed from handcrafted Western Red Cedar from Canada and has been cleverly designed to make the absolute most of the space. There is a living/dining area with sofas, TV, and table and chairs for four people, alongside the well equipped kitchen. Those staying sleep in the chunky log bunk beds. There is also an en-suite shower room with WC.
Despite its remote location there is WiFi at the cabin, while the entire place has been furnished with luxury homewares, vintage furniture, and antiques from The Packhouse in Farnham. The Bunkhouse serves as the perfect accompanying accommodation to the neighbouring main house at Caledonian Cabins, for those who want to enjoy a holiday away with a larger group of people. There is also a further shepherd’s hut sleeping two people.
There is so much to do in the Highlands that everyone, young or old, will be kept entertained. The shore of Loch Garry is just 50 metres away from the front door while you will also be surrounded by several acres of secluded woodland. Take a stroll through it and make the gentle climb to discover the beautiful Glen Garry Waterfalls.
For those who enjoy fishing there are plenty of opportunities to catch fish from brown trout to salmon on the lochs and rivers nearby. History lovers will enjoy visiting the iconic Eilean Donan Castle on an island where the lochs meet the sea, or alternatively there is the 19th Century Inverlochy Castle. Although guests are surrounded by natural beauty, there are also several pubs and restaurants to find nearby. Rokeby Manor is 10 minutes away by car and serves fine Highland cuisine, or there is chic and welcoming The Lovat, The Boathouse with its combination of Scottish and Mediterranean food, and The Lock Inn and its vast range of malt whiskies.
