You should know

• Pets, smoking, parties and loud music aren’t allowed.
• No shoes are allowed in the barn (please put them on the rack at the entrance), and food and drink aren’t allowed in the bedrooms to help keep cleaning fees low.
• Towels are for inside the barn, not outside or on the beach.
• The garden area is shared. Please respect other guests.
• The hosts can provide highchairs, travel cots and a nappy bin. Just let them know in advance.
• One large bag of logs with kindling and fire lighters is provided. You can buy high-quality logs for £10 per bag if you need more.

You’ll have the best of West Cornwall on your doorstep when you escape to this detached family-run holiday cottage. From stunning beaches and the South West Coastal Path to theatres and museums, adventures await during your stay at the Big Barn. Spend your days inhaling the sea air and exploring the landscape before returning for a cosy evening by the wood burner.

The lovingly renovated Grade II listed barn sleeps six guests (plus babies) with enough room for everyone on the sofa in the spacious lounge. Curl up and get comfy as you admire the ocean and countryside views, or watch a movie next to the roaring wood burner as the night draws in.

The kitchen has everything you need, including a Nespresso coffee machine to caffeinate your wild adventures for the day ahead. Rustle up a feast and socialise around the dining table or light up the outdoor BBQ in the warmer months. The hosts sell sustainable instant charcoal coated in natural wax for an additional cost, and the outdoor decking is ideal for tucking into a burger or hotdog on those long summer evenings.

When all the sea air has caught up with you, head to one of three cosy bedrooms to rest on an award-winning Emma mattress. The master bedroom has a king bed and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom has a king bed, and there’s a double in the third bedroom. Both share the main bathroom, which has a bath and shower.

There’s also a large utility area with a washing machine, dryer, clothes airer and more, handy after a day spent outdoors. And for days where you need to catch up on some work, rest assured there’s free super-fast WiFi here.

When you fancy blowing out the cobwebs, stroll to the beautiful beaches of Porthcurno, Pedn Vounder and Porthchapel or take on a section of the South West Coastal Path. For live performances with a difference, head to the open-air Minack Theatre or immerse yourself in global telecommunication at the PK Porthcurno Museum. And of course, you can always go for a pint at the local village pub.
