Hidden away near the 1,700 acre Bentley Wood sit this gorgeous hand-crafted shepherd’s hut complete with a Scandinavian wood-fired hot tub, offering the makings of a romantic rural escape on the Hampshire/Wiltshere border. The hut, made by local specialists, is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. It sits on cast iron wheels, clad in feather edged oak and even features a section of curved glass roof so you can do a spot of star-gazing.
There’s everything you need inside, including a cosy kitchen area and even an en-suite shower room. To make a little extra space during the day, the comfy double bed folds away to reveal a table and some bench seating where you can enjoy your breakfasts overlooking the paddock. In the evenings, pull the bed down and snuggle up under your Hungarian goose down duvet and star-gaze through the beautiful glass roof. You don’t need to worry about chilly evenings, as the hut is well insulated with sheep's wool and there’s a log burner with a supply of wood. Wake to the sound of birdsong and take a coffee outside to the area of decking with a table and chairs to watch the sunrise over the trees.
Situated in its own paddock, surrounded by traditional wooden sheep hurdles and next to the freshwater wood-fired hot tub, Bentley’s offers the opportunity to really unwind and reconnect with nature. Light the barbecue or lie back in the hot tub and relax with a glass of bubbles and the sounds of the wildlife in the background.
You can spend your days relaxing in your own private piece of the countryside or discover what’s on offer in the local area. With a whole range of attractions nearby, from the Bombay Sapphire distillery, to a hawk conservancy, to Stonehenge, there’s something for everyone. Explore Bentley Wood and see if you can catch a glimpse of some of the rare butterfly species that live there or try your hand at fishing. The medieval city of Salisbury is waiting to be explored less than 10 miles away and England’s ancient capital, Winchester is just a little further. There are endless opportunities for exciting day trips, all before coming back to your peaceful haven for a dip in the hot tub and a glass of wine under the stars.
